Today is a good reminder of why this team needs to commit to the tank. All that exciting talent out there and not a single player from the Flames on either team. We so desperately need young elite talent so at the very least this team can be fun to watch again.

Off the ice the Flames are an exciting team to watch in the next few weeks. How far will Edwards let Conroy go in positioning the team to draft meaningful talent? How disgruntled will Kadri become if the team can’t find a trading partner willing to pay a decent price for that contract? Could McKenzie Weegar be the first player in the modern NHL era to waive his trade protection to become an Ottawa Senator?
