Team Canada played a great game offensively against a very strong blueline corps, ran into a great team defence and a world-class goalie who stood on his head. Canada was still by far the most attractive team to watch in the tourney, especially the McDavid-Celebrini-MacKinnon line.

In individual Olympic events, you do your best and if you come in 2nd it is still a great accomplishment. In Olympic team tournaments, if you get silver that means you just lost the most important game you’ve played. It’s completely understandable why they look gutted.

I understand the disappointment but they played lights-out and Hellebyuck had to stand on his head to keep up. Some unlucky bounces on both sides, but a hell of a performance all around. Just a fantastic game.
