My .2c: Team Canada definitely has more, higher tier skill players on it, and it showed with their play style. America had an absolute wall of a Goalie and a good skill base as well. You can argue » the better team didn’t win » but at the end of the day, the Goalie is part of the team, and there’s been many a time in hockey history a Goalie on a heater has « stolen » games/series. In all, it was a fun Olympics and a great game. Hope to see a rematch in 2 years

What was wild to me was that after that 5 on 3 PK, Canada sermed to gain the momentum even more, not the other way around, which usually seems to happen.
Just like Men’s basketball in the USA, the world is catching up. Canada will always be a S-Tier team, but both Finland and Sweden kept Canada and the U.S. on their toes. This game could have easily been for the bronze medal. Also don’t forget Russia will (someday) eventually be back in the mix.

Nate had a tough game but that’s Nate. He can look off for most of a game and then catch fires once or twice and win it all for you. He or the Avs, have never been good in 3v3 or 4v4. We lose almost every time because they are built to win 5v5. They had 2 Avs on the ice when they lost. Sometimes you live and die by those high skill players trying to do what only they can do. 99 times out if 100 Nate buried that open net shot. Unfortunately that 1% happened in a crucial moment. Plenty of other missed opportunities throughout the entire game by the entire team. It’s never one play that loses it. But….we have to have someone to blame.
