@Flyers de Philadelphie

If he was on this particular power play he’d somehow have worse points totals.

Sanheim needs 34 more points to pass Timonen for 3rd, needs 160 more points to pass Desjardins for 2nd.

Sanheim needs 8 more goals to pass Bladon for 3rd, needs 34 more goals to pass Desjardins for 2nd.

He’s not gonna catch Howe for points or goals unless he’s suddenly put on PP1 for the rest of his career. Even then it’s doubtful.

Percent of all time Flyers points scored on the PP:
    Timonen: 55.6%.
    Desjardins: 42.4%.
    Howe: 34.6%.
    Sanheim: 1.27%.

Yet people shit on this dude all the time because he’s not Victor Hedman

ew imagine if we had kept Provolone instead of him

Now imagine him and Ghost today on the PK and PP

The mentality of the coaches over the past decade to not utilize clear stats in front of them is something that should be studied

Is it though? Timonen played 7 years in PHI. Sanheim is on year 8. Timonen wasnt a huge offensive guy for PHI. He was never the 50 point guy NSH had. We got 40 point production from him which is good but nothing spectacular. Realistically he may pass Timonen just based on quantity of games played but he wont sniff the others.

I think it just shows we’ve never really had or kept skilled Dmen. Someone like Makar has played 1 less season than Sanheim and doubled his production. Theres a very large gap between the two.

I mean it’s not bad but it kinda says more about us and our inability to keep good defensemen and develop them tbh. He has less points than both provorov and ghost currently for example for their careers who we didn’t keep and we have a ton of defensemen that at one point in time looked like they had star ceilings that didn’t pan out

We don’t even really have 3 hall of fame defensemen in franchise history. We have howe of course, and Pronger played a couple seasons for us but I wouldn’t really count him much.

Our best defensemen of the 21st century has been kimmo timmonen and that’s kinda sad tbh because he’s not a hall of fame defensemen

He was just a top 6 defenseman for team Canada in the Olympics. I think that puts him a little past just being a good player. Is he elite as in top 3 in the league? No, but I would be there are 30 other teams that would love to have him. He is a very good player. Lets realize what we have.
