Based on the criteria, guys like Willander, Mancini, Raty, Lekki, etc are all considered graduates, so things are pretty break. The team has a lot of solid young players but pure prospects are thin.

This is going to be a long long rebuild.

Well tbf our only young studs in the NHL right now our Buium and Willander. I don’t think we have any U22 forward prospects in the NHL
Aside from Cootes Willander and getting Buium for Hughes, we haven’t even started the rebuild. It’s only been tanking to begin it this summer

Cootes is an awesome prospect, but it’s grim that he is our #1. You’d think that with 1 playoff run in 5 seasons, we’d have a deeper prospect pool right now. There’s a big chance that we won’t have any NHL players from the 2024 Draft.
Insane asset management by this FO.
Not sure how anyone can still support them in leading our next rebuild.

Only two prospects for the entire [NHL Top-100 prospects](https://thehockeywriters.com/nhl-top-100-prospects-ranking/); Cootes and Lekkerimaki. Also why is Lekkerimaki graduated here? He has fewer than 40 GP at the NHL-level, he’s by no means an NHL regular at this point.

Our prospect pool is still trash. Don’t know why they bother doing these.

The fact that Braeden Cootes is the team’s number one prospect just shows how far this team has to go. I like Braeden Cootes, but him, being the number one prospect in the system, shows how far this team is.

Man… This is such a brutal place to be… Sawyer Mynio is our 4th best prospect… Think about that for a minute. Our team is in dead last and our 4th best prospect likely wouldn’t be in the top 15 prospects of many teams. No shade against Sawyer, but is he a significantly better prospect then Vsevolod Komarov, Bryce Pickford, or Wang Haoxi? All these guys are 10-15 prospects on their respective teams and are probably equally as good prospects as Mynio.

There are some interesting prospects here, but I’m not seeing any likely blue chip prospects. We should get at least one in the upcoming draft, but a rebuilding team needs their prospect list to have several of the kinds of names that make your eyes pop. We will need this draft and the next to both go well then I think that’s the groundwork for the first phase of the rebuild.

Man this is painful to read when our best prospect is a potential 3C and we’ve missed the playoffs all but one year essentially since we got rid of Benning…

Shouldn’t Gavin McKenna be number one?
