Steve Dangle affirme que Suzuki aurait dû être le choix n°1 en OT

Et tous les partisans du Tricolore le savaient aussi.

100% how many times did mcdavid try to be Superman?

  2. dessanct

You have one of the best PP players in the league (behind only McDavid and Draisaitl), 0 PP time

Leading Selke player, 0 PK time during the 4 min kill

One of the best OT players in the league, 0 OT time.

Cooper really fumbled this game. No idea why MacKinnon was taking every other shift for Suzuki.

Completely agree with the Suzuki point, but what on earth is the next guy talking about with « Eichel is always dynamite in the face-off dot’? Eichel is one of the worst 1Cs for face-offs in the entire league (46% overall with Vegas)

McDavid is the anti-Crosby. He’s no leader.

Suzuki for captain of Team Canada in 2030.

    Coulda woulda shoulda.

Can’t live in an alternate universe, I thought Suzuki should have also been on the powerplay but the staff must have really seen something in the other guys. MacKinnon and Makar out there on the powerplay did fine considering the Avs are dead last in the league for converting… so many storylines that are fun to think up.

Everyone in Montreal knew this. Bad coaching imo.

Team chemistry > trying too hard to be the hero

The more you think about it, the more infuriating it gets lol

You have on your roster a star player who’s been in a 3 on 3 scenario more than anyone else on the team this year and won a majority of those 3 vs 3 overtimes, a guy that is known to be responsible, strong face off guy and great defensively …. and you dont use him?

Suzuki should have been on the ice.

McDavid thought it was regular season OT vs Vancouver the way he wanted to play hero hockey

Cooper mismanaged the game, big time. It was Team Canada FFS, your 4th line could be the first line on most NHL team… Should have stretch his lines way more and game manage better. Marchand had an off day, it was clear but still, he played as much as Suzuki who created some great chances on limited ice time…

Imagine being a grown man and calling yourself Steve dangle hahahahahaha

Cooper is a fucking clown for not playing Suz on the PP and OT. It’s like he’s out of the loop about anything happening outside of Tampa.

I can tell you that based on his tournament play, Mckinnion should not have been out there first, Marner should have. But John Cooper seems to hate Mitch Marner

What kills me is that it’s not like our other 3 lines are bad.

They’ve been selected amongst the BEST Canadians that play the fucking sport.

For crying out loud the 4th line’s salary COMBINED costs more than our first line in the tricolore.

I pray this ignites Suzy and he becomes an even greater menace in the league.

I saw a coaching problem Sunday. And maybe some roster picks that didn’t work out as much as we hoped it would.

Can’t wait until we meet the Lightning in the Eastern Conference finals one of these years and Suzuki takes over the series.

The Crosby injury affected the game in a way I didn’t expect. Cooper trusted Crosby, and he definitely would not have forgotten to play him. Suzuki would have been a great replacement for him, but Cooper did not trust him nearly as much.

I think that it’s understandable that a coach would get excited about the McDavid-McKinnon-Celebrini line considering how well they played, but deployment of players in the finale leaves a lot of question. Was the team built so poorly that many players couldn’t be trusted to play more in such an important game? Some older players definitely seem to struggle. Or was Cooper so blinded by the talent on his top line, he did not find a way to use the talent he had in an optimal way?

It’s probably a bit of both. Doughty and Marchand shouldn’t have been picked over younger legs. And in the OT, McDavid and Makar looked gassed. Sure, McDavid tried to do too much on his own, but can we blame him? Cooper was basically asking him to do so.

The issue I think was that they forgot how hockey should be played 3 on 3. You don’t have 1 line stick around too long, 30 to 60 second max. If they did that the pace would have been much better.

Also consider the following, a part McDavid line, who gave you the most clutch goals? Suzuki and Marner. You couldn’t put those 2 on a shift with Theodore (insert another D than Makar) for a shift?

  18. WeathervaneJesus1

He didn’t say that at all. He said he should have been on the ice. If you listen to his whole point, the context is that they were riding three guys for the whole OT instead of getting others involved.

  19. AleroRatking

They cared more about star power than winning hockey

    They got what they deserved.

  20. OnlineEgg

cooper just did not do a good enough job as coach. he rode one trio into the ground.

in games against teams like france, why was he stacking one line? shouldnt those have been the games to try different line combinations to find out what works best? a one line team will never win anything. hockey is a TEAM game.

u have some of the best players in the world and more than half of them barely touched the ice. team canada’s forward depth was praised when it was announced, it was seen as a strength. but how can it be a strength if the coach just decides not to use it? what an absolute joke

one of the best PP players in the league, one of the best OT players in the league, a selke candidate. doesnt touch the ice on the PP, in OT, or on a 4min PK. absolutely fucking insane decision making.

marner did not even get a chance w mcdavid despite the fact he set up mcdavid’s GWG at 4 nations. meanwhile a sick/injured mackinnon who was a defensive liability and 5on5 anchor in this tournament gets triple shifted. it boggles the mind
