Basically the only guy who might get a solid return is Risto. Bunch of those guys feel like an offseason deal
Start picturing the post TDL media conference now guys. Danny comes out in clown makeup and a propeller hat on and says that nothing materialized.
Experience. Flyera.
Sanheim, TK and Vladar are untouchable. Thank goodness….I want to be mediocre forever.
The Flyers have 5 games before the deadline.
Flyers have 61 points.
Boston in the 2nd wildcard have 69 points.
Islanders in 3rd in Metro have 69 points.
There are 4 teams between the Flyers and Boston.
Flyers only have one game in hand over Boston.
If either BOS or NYI get just 3 out of 10 points the Flyers can’t possibly catch them even if they win out.
I think Risto is gone.
Possibly Brink if the Flyers can’t work out enough retention on Tippet to fit him into a trade or perhaps they want to keep him.
Of course they could be planning on dealing Tippet in the summer before his no trade kicks in.
Deslauriers, Grundstrom, Juulsen are all small potatoes anyway.
It would be completely nuts if TK or Sanheim decided out of the blue they want to waive their no trade to go chase a cup.
The Flyers would have to retain salary and/or take back guys on crappy contracts.
Of course it’s highly doubtful but crazier things have happened.
This is such a backwards-thinking organization. That anyone could make the case for Dvorak, Konecny, Sanheim, and Vladar being ‘near untouchable’ is absolutely asinine when they are wholesale lacking any semblance of a future contending core to build around Michkov, Martone, and potentially Zavragin.
I’d be surprised if they did anything more than trade Risto. If I had to bet I’d put my money on them doing absolutely nothing and just letting the season play out.
« It took the Flyers some patience to get Zegras, 24, from the Anaheim Ducks, and they are not partying with him now. »
Damn guys, I’ll party with Z. He seems cool.
That Dvorak extension looked like a misstep the second it was signed. Now watch, they won’t even trade Risto because they’re committed to being “competitive”.
Not a single player should be untouchable. The goal should be a top line center and top line defenseman at all cost
I want to snag Charlie Stramel out of Minnesota’s system. They could use Tippet.
I’m not saying trade Vladar but how is he an untouchable?
It’s painful watching the Pens turned Jarry, a good but not great goalie into multiple useful pieces just because they had the cap room to take Skinner’s contract.
It makes me angry how infrequently the Flyers do this, mainly because they’re too busy extending middle 6 guys for half a decade for no good reason. And even when they trade with cash strapped teams they rarely do this. The only trade I can remember where the Flyers got assets for taking dead weight was the Provy 3-way.
