Another good day to be a Red Wings fan

Last night seemed like we finally said enough is enough with Ottawa bullying us physically. Loved seeing Edvinsson and Gibson give those guys a taste of their own medicine.
We are 4-0 against the leafs and 3-0 against the sens this year.
Brady Tkachuck hitting himself in the face with his own stick, and then getting a 10 minute misconduct for chirping at the guy he ran into was exactly the comedy we needed.
Love that Larks went over to Gibby after the game winner to give him some shine.
Not exactly March 25 1997 but had that flavour.

1. Lots of totally understandable shit for Larks this week. From an on ice perspective, was good to see him obviously score but also be out hustling Pinto (who Trent Green had been using last shift all night to matchup the Larkin/Razor line) to space on the GWG. We needed to see him show up with energy and he did, so credit where it’s due, just like critique. Consistency will be key, though.
2. « I was at DFW airport this week » is a phrase I hope to never be true again. What a disaster that place is. Sorry, regional residents, but that airport is brutal.
Hi, I’m new to being a red wings fan! I’ve been a hockey fan for a while nown– just a fan of the sport watching random games without a favorite team. I think the way the wings have been playing this year have solidified them for me.
What’s some good random trivia/facts that are considered essential to being a wings fan?
Also, where’s the best place online to buy a centennial jersey. They’re so sick.

We might be seeing Larkins legitimate final form. He’s got skilled guys around him, his confidence actually may be the highest it’s ever been in the pros, and he’s clearly evolved as a leader. Things feel VERY different. I can’t foresee the slump. I really think something has changed in this teams DNA this season, and doubly so after the Olympics.

I’m happy Gibby was good enough to weather the storm until the boys got their legs back.

Todd mentioned in the postgame that both Larkin and Ray started hot after the 4 Nations break last year and then fell off after a couple of games. Great to see them play well yesterday but I’m not counting my chickens yet. LGRW!
Being completely honest folks, I’ve had a pretty shitty last few weeks. And when that OT goal went in I was so pumped it was like I was able to forget all that crap and remember life can be good sometimes. Nothing like red wings hockey

Does anyone have the inkling someone from Detroit brass released information on an offer being sent to Myers camp? Just to show Steve is actually trying, but nobody seemingly wants to waive here.
The good news is that if Meyers doesn’t want to come here because it’s too far from his family of four with one child being disabled (not sure what that is, just reiterating what I’ve read), then I seriously doubt he’ll go to any team east of the Mississippi. Any team out west would be better for him and his family. Plus, he doesn’t have to accept any trade I don’t think, but I don’t know that for sure. This is just me typing before coffee btw and I’m probably totally wrong etc…

Pretty good game last night on the whole. The Senators always give the Wings a ton of trouble, and they’re really good at locking down the ice, so I’m not surprised to see a low scoring game against them.
The Wings have now won three in a row against the Senators and last night captures the season series for us, even though there’s still one more game to go at the end of March. It has been many years since either of those things have happened. It’s why I’ve said « we’ll know the rebuild is over when we can win the season series against the Sens » only half-jokingly. Those guys have been a major wall for us for a very long time.
I don’t know how the Blues can get anything done. They will either stand pat or get low-balled.

Looked at the remaining schedule last night. Wings play a bunch of really good teams. When we get to the playoffs we will be ready for anything after that gauntlet.
