That’s not too surprising. Being in a rebuild with so many vets locked up with term, some GMs must see an opportunity to get Vancouver to retain on trades. Plus, if you look at centres drafted the past 8 years. Apart from Bédard and Celebrini it’s surprising how few top end centre there are, with Petty actually being one of the best even with his current play.

I think the Canucks were asking for Edvinsson during the Hughes trade talk so I presume they are asking for him again.
I know he’s on a bad contract, but if all we get is a single, low first round pick and a meh prospect, then we’re basically getting fleeced. We can afford the cap space for now, no need to trade him away when his value is so low. We can afford to wait at least a year or so if he’s gonna be traded.
