"We want the easy ice"? Meaning what exactly? Have you ever heard a more unintelligent, simple-minded, coach? The truth is "chief" that these players have zero (0) respect for you… never did and never will.

This group of players hasn't come together all season unfortunately. The lines have never solidified. There are some high skilled guys on this team but sometimes the chemistry between players just never develops to the level needed to win night in and night out. Changes are going to happen in the off season and hopefully next year the new players and existing players work together better. We shall see. Go leafs Go.
This is NOT a different team from before the break… please! They won 3 games against 3 teams (2 non-playoff in Calgary and Vancouver and 1 Oilers team that might actually miss the playoffs) that are not playing very well right now. This is NOT a different team. The Leafs are a slow, untalented, and completely disconnected team with NO chemistry! This is yet another FAILED season…. 59 and counting!

The Toronto Maple Leafs have a serious work ethic problem. The players seem to show up only whenever they feel like it.
This Leafs team does not have good team chemistry.
This team is in total disarray – and have been most of the season. There is zero communication or comradery on the bench during games. Other teams chat and push each other to be better the Leafs just sit and wait for the next shift – it’s a group of individual players and NOT a team.
He is a very good coach but these players are impossible to coach the players pride

Ottawa played a playoff game and kept the leafs to the outside and the Leafs did not drive the net and they seemed content to play on the outside and 6 shots on goal through the second period proves it. The leafs played a typical leafs game on the perimeter.
The team sewered Chief get rid of mathews start over. But the Leafs can't get out of their own shadows so here's to another 50+ yrs with no cup. 🎉🎉

This sounds what it means. Having a major Canadian team roster although the players may not be top of the stats on different positions is still much better, because patriotism, playing for your Nation is one of the essentials to progression. Remember the pioneers of the Maple Leafs, Montreal Candians that of the 1980's Oilers. Maintaining a medium and working towards forward is the essential.
The only thing that Captain America is going to lead the LEAFS is for a first round draft pick.

The Leafs have an ownership group that doesn't care a bout winning a cup and it shows. The Leafs "Big Move" was firing Savard. What a joke this organization is. Imagine sitting around and watching that garbage on the ice all year and thinking,,,, "You know I think we are real close. If we replace the power play coach we are right there". That is the state of this clown show organization.
Worst leaf season in terms of effort. Cant string a pass together. Shots were 18-2 at one point.. they couldnt get the puck out of their zone.. GM is clueless.. Keefe > Berube.
Need new GM, New coach, and rebuild basically the entire team.

Leafs are old and slow. Being outshot 22 to 6 at one point. Ottawa out plays them 100% across the board. Good game and moving closer to a playoff spot.

The fact is leafs play with no urgency or passion. They don’t get physically involved to increase the intensity. Watch their games and it’s going through the motions. They can’t even cycle the puck for any amount of time. Ever wonder why lesfs have lees PP chances than everyone else.

As a longtime Leaf, I remember back when we first landed Babcock, had all these new young superstars, picked up Tavares….. all that HOPE an’ OPTIMISM….. gone! This is the Titanic….. sinking with a big gaping hole in its belly.

Maybe you can teach them to pass the puck, make plays and shoot. Your shooting it in the end and going after it is NOT working! Your shooting lose it 95% of the time and allow them to attack. Your only passing play in the game scored. The other goal was shooting from the point and having someone there to get the rebound. Basic! 90% of the time your defenceman shoots it in the end rather than at the goal. Why! Watch the rerun and see how Ottawa did it.
