  1. All videos for nothing
EP40 is a good player and just because a coach is frank nobody terminates a contract

  2. Ah – that would be stupid! There are several teams willing to give up players and orisoects – why give up – lose millions in future payments – and then watch Petterssen sign with WHOEVER he wants?!?!?!?!

  3. It is just a very weird coincidence that EP40's production took a nose dive within hours of him signing that insane contract. They simply cannot buy him out.
They are already paying OEL $4.76M to play for Toronto. Where, by the way, he has as many points as EP40.
They are just going to have to suck it up for another 5 or 6 years.

  4. Tbf lets wait it out a bit and build around good young players and who knows how he'll look 2-3 years from now, or if we could somehow get a 2027 first for him and a couple other assets then I guess bye Petey!

  5. Why would they buyout petterson when it would be cheaper for them to just retain a little bit of salary on a trade? The only reason to buy him out is if he said no to any trades I suppose?

  6. That’s what I said the line he is playing on is garbage
When they have new rookies next year there will be no one to play with them

  7. I'm not exactly sure what Detroit would offer considering we already have a player like him as in Marco K.asper I would say for what he costs and what they're asking in return you're stuck with him lesson learned

  8. Yeah, he needs to get away from that club.
    Better for him
    Better for the Canucks
Rip it off like a bandaid
    Its for the best

Especially if he goes to Detroit…😊

  9. He’s wasting all his potential… Just like Laine has been doing, tbh. They should play together— Maybe they can boost each other up and start focusing on hockey. Honestly though, I think bro needs counseling or something.

  10. U think they want him to play his best hockey i don't think so they want their No 1 draft pick come on guys use ur head's it ain't happening

  11. It would hurt the Canucks more if they buyout this guy…we might as well accept the fact that he will be another Jamie Benn. 9.5mil aav is not a far stretch from 11.6mil aav at today's market. I totally agree and appreciate with what Rutherford said that he is not our cornerstone franchise player. Only way to move this guy is for a prospect, a 1st and 2nd rounder. Petterson still leads his draft class in points.

  12. If detroit aggressively wants to trade for petterson, even if canucks get a bag of pucks in return AND must retain some [50% ?] salary – thats STILL better than buying him out! why would you buy-out, just keeping him is more valuable than buying out, too

  13. We don't even need to win for 3 or 4 years. We are rebuilding. Why the heck would we buy him out? The correct move is to get better linemates for EP40, like Lafreniere. We got time.
