I’ll give you my honest opinion on if Hagens is traded….
Hagens is top 5 NHL prospect to start with, you only trade those for superstars and to be honest the only superstar that seems to be “available” at this deadline is Robert Thomas. However, Thomas has a full NMC which basically allows him to pick his trade destination. The Bruins are not contenders and are only about a 50% chance to make the playoffs and even if they do they will not be competitive. When you look at contenders like Minnesota and Detroit who are almost locks to make the playoffs and are linked to Thomas, the questions shouldn’t be targeted around your team. Why would you approve a trade to a team that won’t be competitive when you could instead opt to a contender and push for the Staley Cup?
Really thinking Hagens is ready, but whada I know. Been watching BC vs. BU last couple games, not biased at all rooting for BC just because I am a huge fan if Hagens 😂
I haven’t even finished the video yet, but I see people talking Hagens for Thomas.. and I’d 1000000% rather see Hagens bust in Boston than see Hagens explode somewhere else.. 🤣
I would not trade Hagens for Thomas. Even though we’re hoping Hagens becomes a Robert Thomas, he’s 7 years older than Hagens and I just think someone that I can believe can reach that ceiling that’s that young is a much more valuable thing to have. A 1C you could have for 15 years instead of the next 7 years of Thomas’ prime.
Personally…… just a gut feeling, I am thinking Sweeny is going to make a trade that is "off the board.". I am all for getting Thomas but lets not get in that trade away the future for today. Hagens should be untouchable. If Toronto starts selling that means they are going to tank and their first could be on the table?
I think its equally possible that Ardvison gets traded as he signs a 2-3 year deal. The team, including Strum, like him, and we can not really afford to remove scoring
omg stop it with the Hagens for Thomas talk. Instead of paying Thomas 8mil/yr, you keep Hagens with his ELC (3mil/yr?) and spend the remaining 5mil/yr on another player. You have to take advantage of ELCs if you want to contend.
I'm keeping Hagens, zellers , letourneau. I'm trading any other prospect, the Panthers 1st Rd pick, and we have 9 picks this year. Plenty of picks to swap. There's no reason to draft 9 guys this year. They're definitely trading peeke and they'll deal Lohrei. Plenty of options that aren't catastrophic.
Gods, it's gonna suck if Zellers is the piece that gets us Thomas. I loved him at Dev Camp and I still assert that he could skate through traffic better than almost anyone on the Bruins, but if that's the price, I might be willing to take it. Also happy you understood where I was coming from with the Eichel comparison. Not necessarily an exact 1:1 comparison, but like this is the most action a top line center has been given on the trade market in years. GO BS!!!!
There’s going to be a player, who you’ve never heard of, who’s going to get acquired by the bruins in a nothing trade, that becomes a solid third liner for us.
Maybe not this year or next, but I agree with you. Sweeney is diamond in the rough searching, I don’t think he’s looking for a guy who’s going to cost them multiple firsts.

Only trade Hagens if it’s for Thomas, even then I’d hesitate!
Trade Ardvy and Peeke for picks then flip those picks and maybe a Lysell or Poitras for a good RD or a top 6 scorer.

How about no big trades
That’s the best option

As a Canes fan, I have no idea why I keep returning to watch white Troy Polamalu talk about the Bruins, but here I am again

Fringe players don’t get you much of a return
There you go Sweeney. Be an idiot. Trade the future.

Gonna be a stressful week as all the rumors start to circulate, gonna be a very interesting deadline. Can’t wait to see how it all unfolds. Go B’s.

Sellers. No doubt. Team isnt strong at all. Going nowhere. Geeks and, Chucky and 0:40 Pasta keep and build off of. Everyone else expendable
Feelings!? Who cares about em these players aren't good enough imo. Sell em , bunch of 3rd and 4th liners anyway. 3 lines of Flotsum and jetsum
most likly schenn to boston..
Thanks for answering my question at 38 mins Low Qual! Great response, and agree!! This mailbag was awesome. Great questions from all!
Hagens is 5 points back of McKenna if we trade him I will RIOT
IF Toronto tanks; trading their 1st and two prospects (Lysell and Gasseaux) for Rob Thomas makes some sense.
You shouldnt move off Hagens ever in my eyes. He was previously the projected first overall pick before schaefer. you cant get rid of him
OH FUCK NO Hagens!!!!
Moral to the story: at least we’re not Toronto.

If you can get Thomas you do what you have to do him with pasta hes getting 90pts.

Hagens could be great. Or could be merkulov. And be a bust. Prospects are all a maybe. Get an NHL ready player. Not a could be or might be.
Zach Whitecloud is interesting
I would not trade Hagens for Robert Thomas
Patrick browns value must be an all time high, package him with Lysell for literally anyone is worth atleast 2dollars right!?
