Also would mean national games will start at 8pm.

Daylight savings is like cutting the top off a blanket, sewing it to the bottom, and pretending the blanket is longer. It boggles the mind that rational humans came up with something so stupid.

we dont need sleep we need a hockey team

Biggest W since our last win (January 29th) 😬

So are we staying sprung forward or fallen back? This stuff confuses me.

So regular market games would start at 9pm eastern time?? That would be very nice for an Ontario Canucks fan

It’ll be weird at first, but we’ll get used to it eventually…

After years of promises they make another promise. I will believe it when I see it.

Does anyone have stats if the Canucks are better playing at DST vs Standard time?

Hollly this is good news. That swap is always so rough lol

  11. Will HNIIC start at 3 or 5? It’s breaking my brain trying to figure it out.

Personally, don’t even really mind the later starts on Saturday nights.

I am curious, if California adopted the same policy, would the rest of the US follow? I am a Poli Sci major and can’t really say I was ever taught anything about the complexities of timezones and stuff.

As an Ontario Canucks fan I LOVE it

Either Ontario switches to permanent DST as well (best case scenario) or home games for most of the season are only 2h off instead of 3!

Eby out there doing the shit no one asks for 🤣 buddy is just tossing out as many grenades as possible before the next election.

New York and Ontario need to come together on this shit and get it done. It would create a domino effect.

So I guess the question is do they keep the games at 10est for 8pm start times from November-March or match the Alberta teams with 9pm EST starts? But then that means 6pm local start times in October and past March. Or do they just schedule it so that 7pm local stays the time no matter what.

NHL schedulers are gonna love this haha

Genuinely curious, why wouldn’t we just be starting games at 7 still?

we should be on standard time not daylight cause of all the health issues it causes

Californian here, and Sharks fan, so I guess the algo wanted me to jump back into the DST debate in a hockey forum 😆. BC will be an interesting test case for us down here. Californians did vote for permanent DST but can’t move forward unless the federal government allows it, and there won’t ever be nationwide consensus here.

That being said I always lean towards permanent Standard time if we had to pick one, but prefer the time change. It’s an inconvenience sure, but a minor one to give us the best of both worlds: morning light in the winter and usable PM light in the summers.

Is there no concern up there for 9am sunrises in the winter?? Will be interested to see how it’s going come next Dec-Feb.

Why the hell would it make games later ???
