That’s double what I was imagining
This would be a prime BG move. 😂
I think you might be high. ESPN talking hockey?
Take the 2nd out and it seems reasonable enough. Not too far off imo
That’s not far off from nearly everything noted previously but plus a 2nd.
His stock is up after being perfect on the PK and being a top-3 faceoff guy against the world’s best. A very manageable contract with term in a league where everyone is looking to hoard centers.
What do people expect?
Stramel and a 1st and maybe a 3rd is what I’m hoping gets it done. From what I’ve heard the Rangers have already heard the Wilds offer and are shopping around trying to find something better before they accept.
I think teams are going to be trying to take advantage of the fact that the Wild desperately need a top end center and there aren’t too many available. Won’t be surprised if it does take more than a 1st + Stramel to get it done
There’s not many centers available, especially with contracts like Trocheck. That probably isn’t too far off from what he’s going to get moved for.
Adding the second is a bit rich, and Lambos is basically a throw in, but a 1st and a good prospect is what I think everyone is expecting.
Is that the right move? I’m not so sure. That is fairly realistic for a good center at the deadline though.
I saw the other day a proposed trade for O’Reilly that was a top prospect, a 1st and another piece. Kind of absurd for a 36 year old center but there’s a reason everyone needs one.
It’s not that much higher than the likely value of a 1st + former 1st + 3rd (Nelson package)
Yeah I mean if thats the price we have to pay to be a real cup contender then I think I’m fine with that even if it’s slightly overpaying.
That’s seems reasonable..
by your title I thought it’d be way worse lmao
For what it’s worth, we want to win now. Yes we want value for our trade assets but we also don’t need those players and they realistically won’t fit in our window. I’m tired of teams being so scared to give up more value in futures for win now players. If this moves the needle to help us win the cup then I say fucking do it. If we don’t, then at least we will be so dogshit we can finally rebuild.
That sounds about right.
Lambos is entirely expendable at this point. Our picks are likely late-round. Stramel is a nice asset, but I don’t see where he fits on this team the next 2 years.
Trocheck has term and a reasonable contract. If this includes retained salary it’s even better.
In the middle of the season in particular, decent centers are going to be expensive. Add to it that everyone and their mother knows that the Wild are: 1. In their window; and 2. Badly need a center…well, it’s gonna cost.
The time for handwringing over future costs is over. The Quinn trade showed that the Wild are in it for this year and next. That is the primary window. If they get a Cup over it, it will have been worth it. If they don’t, people are gonna complain, sure. But you can’t dip your toe in; either go for it, or don’t.
If we can get him for that, take it… those picks are going to be real low. Lambos has no future on this team, and Stramel is still a huge question mark. This doesnt take from our current roster. Im all for it.
Take away lambos and the first rounder
If this trade went down what are the lines? I was thinking a current roster player would be moved in the deal to make space?
