  1. I’m more familiar with his music career, but if he’s a good hockey player, go for it Danny

  2. Excluding Martone we do not have a talent package to land Thomas……..nor does Briere have the courage to give up assets to make the Hockey Trade that this team really needs…..danny lacks balls.

  3. I mean … no? Thomas isn't enough to go "all in" to get. If you need to win a race, you don't just agree to buy the Hyundai because its there.

  4. Thomas would be a great fit and we are way too organizationally stacked at RW. I like Tippett but his defensive liabilities limit who you can pair him with and he’s not consistent enough for me to be confident in him as a top line wing.

We need to get rid of at least one right wing. I see Brink as an affordable and dependable 3rd liner.

Andrae, Tippett, and a first seems pretty fair and realistic to me but not sure if I’m wearing orange-tinted glasses

  5. I don’t know why the Blues would want Tippett. He’s not much younger than Thomas. How about Brink, our 2027 1st, and our 2026 2nd?

  6. It's funny, if they are serious about getting better this is the kind of move they need to make but they probably don't have the ammo and he probably doesn't want to come here. It's a shame. Stuck in mediocrity sucks.

  7. no, would not pay the steep price that St Louis is demanding….price is too high. Thomas is absolutely not a superstar 1C. No first round picks for him. They probably don't want Risto, but I'd consider any of our center prospects (Luchanko or Nesbitt), York, and maybe Brink. And if that is close to getting it done throw in a second or third round pick in 2027.

  8. This rebuild is a failure. They put all their eggs in 2026 Free Agency. Once Jones admitted they were caught off guard regarding the rising cap, it was the white flag. That first season will come back to haunt them under Briere as GM. That playoff push that ended in no playoffs and a pick in the teens is a true recipe to stay mediocre

  9. I'm more interested in why is st Louis moving Robert Thomas. Do they believe he's not good enough for that salary.

  10. Should != Can. If Im STL nothing the flyers have interests me. STL is heading into a rebuild. That means they want picks and prospects. Leafs 2027 pick might be intriguing but we have no top level prospects.

  11. Outside opinion: the Flyers should be trying to trade TK, Couturier, Sanheim, Dvorak, and arguably Zegras, Brink, and Drysdale. They are nowhere close to competitive and will never be competitive without moving out those pieces for futures.

  12. Honestly, the answer is yes. Hear me out.

This team is yet again stuck in mediocrity. TK is in his prime. Same with Sanny. Vladar is playing really well. Zegras looks like the real deal. We just signed a 30-year old Dvorak to an extension. But we have good, young talent and some potential stars in Zegras, Michkov, and Martone. We have other really solid young pieces that should fill out our roster nicely. Think guys like Foerster, Cates, Barkey, Drysdale. We lack the high end talent. We all know this.

Obviously we need more pieces in the next 2-3 years. Especially another top defenseman. But with the 2026 draft looking good in that regard, maybe we’ll find our guy in June.

In regard to a 1C, I just don’t think we’ll get one via the draft. Unless we get insanely lucky. And there’s no one in this draft who even projects to be a 1C anyway.

So, I’d say trade for Thomas. Or for Pettersson. They’re still young enough and in their mid-20s and in their prime where they fit our timeline.

We have good, young talent in their primes who are about 25-29 years old. We have guys in their early 20s. We have other veterans who are solid enough and above the age of 30. And we have star talent in their late teens and early 20s in Zegras, Michkov, and Martone. It’s a good mix. And we really don’t even have many bad contracts either weighing us down. I’d argue the only true bad contract we have is Couturier.

I’d argue it’s a good idea to make a big splash because if we don’t, then what the hell are we doing? Might as well trade Konecny and Sanheim then. No reason to extend Dvorak. Because these guys have about 3-4 more great years left before they decline. And Vladar is almost 30 too.

So, for me, the answer is yes. Thomas and Pettersson are both available. And when healthy and on their games, they’re legit 1Cs.

Can we really afford to pass this opportunity by and run the risk of HOPING that we win a lottery and can draft a 1C?

  13. I definetly want RT. I remember when the blues were good and I loved his game. He fits what flyers want at center, a good 200 foot player he also is good offensvely. From what I see from the flyers in the past few years is that they value a C thats good in his own zone before offense.
