@Canucks de Vancouver

So Kane is going to play his 1000th game in a Canuck jersey. Awkward….

  3. JazzGMster2020

Would not surprise me one bit, though I think he could still fetch a 5th rounder for a bubble team

  4. Cheese649

Even if we get a 7th, we just need to get rid.

    Take the cap space.

  5. Viciousspacepebbles

We’d laugh if we heard the offers…

Just fell to my knees at the Roxy

  7. notbacon78

Thanks aqauman, you forced this trade and again got us a bag of nothing!

  8. _GregTheGreat_

I mean, he’s still on a 15 goal, ~40 point pace. I wouldn’t say that’s a lack of production, those are traditional middle six numbers

  9. morelsupporter

i mean that’s kinda of great in its own way

  10. QuiGGz96

If he didn’t have a rep for being a fucking moron he would’ve been moved by now. He just doesn’t have enough upside to offset all the negatives anymore.

  11. FetidToenailCheese

If only literally everyone could have seen this coming

  12. FarmerWinter9997

Fortunately, Kane does play better in playoffs. With retention, I’d be surprised someone doesn’t bite.

There’s always going to be a fear of disruption; however he’s managed to keep his name out of negative spotlight.

He’s a Friday late afternoon type deal imo. There’s no rush to make this deal for other teams; especially if they’re big game hunting. They want to figure out their cap before knowing how much they need Canucks to retain.

It will get done unless Canucks don’t want it too. Even at a loss (5th or worse) is better than nothing.

  13. Top_Sand_8742

This take is absolutely delusional. I get that you guys don’t agree with his politics, but lack of production? The dude has 27 points this season.

What is this based off of, because the numbers do not support the claim? Injuries aside, Evander Kane will be in this league next year, I guarantee it.

  14. Just retain max salary. Someone will want him as a gritty depth piece for peanuts on the dollar. This deadline is going to suck though

  15. christoval

so glad we helped edmonton by getting this fucking plug.

  16. mediumyeet

No surprise here. He’s a liability both as a player and a person.

At the end of the day, I still think we end up getting a 5th for 50% retention but wouldn’t be surprised if we don’t.

  17. DragPullCheese

He’s fourth in the team in scoring, big winger, history as a playoff performer, tough guy, on an expiring deal.

I don’t see at all how he wouldn’t garner more than Connor Garland.

  18. Quillayuter

He’s probably gonna end up in Europe like Sweden or Switzerland.

  19. n0thingisperfect

Will they say they « ran out of time » or « you wouldn’t believe the offers we got »?

  20. DisplacedNovaScotian

I’m a bit surprised by this. I’m not saying he’s been good. But his play and production are a little better than what would normally be PTO status. If he was worth a 4th last year, I’d think he should be worth something close to that this year.

  21. slothropdroptop

1st line winger Evander Kane isn’t getting interest? This is crazy

  22. BigTunaHunter

Fire the Canucks management team and coaching staff ASAP

  23. StormMission907

Kane is the least of our worries . He’s gone after this season .A 4th round pick rarely gets a sniff in the NHL . I am more worried about Debrusk, Garland ,Boeser , Demko ,EP 40. If all 5 are back next year we are hooped .

  24. JTMilleriswortha1st

He’s gotta be rage baiting us. He’s still putting up decent points. 50% retain we can absolutely get something

  25. freshlyclicked

Kane will go. He will go in the final hour to the team that missed out on their top 5 targets.

  27. error_card_ur_rich

He sucks. There’s no reason for a team to trade for him.

  28. Diflorasone

lol I got downvoted at the time of the trade for saying it was a horrendous move and everyone was was replying and say we’d be able to move him for a pick.

We traded a pick for him and freed up Edmonton’s cap space. We literally gave them an asset to take on a shitty contract.

    FIRE Rutherford and Allvin

  29. Fireryman

    We just saw 2 4th liners get a 2nd and 3rd.

    50% retained Kane can get a 3rd

  30. hollandaisesawce

This is being put out by interested teams trying to get Kane cheaper than Canucks are asking for.

  31. dattroll123

He sucks and I’m guessing Alvin doesnt want to retain salary.

  32. NoticedGenie66

I’m pretty sure a team will throw a 6th or 7th at Kane for his playoff reputation if nothing else (and there is not a whole lot else tbf). Might be as a last-resort option when their first and second choice are gone, but he certainly will attract some level of interest, unless all the talk from different insiders over the last couple of weeks regarding his name attracting trade interest was actually completely untrue OR his status magically changed over the last couple of weeks which I think is doubtful.

If we get a 7th in the draft 3 years from now for Kane, I will consider that a win. Anything else is gravy at this point lmao.

  33. AmericansAreRotund

Nearly every gamble Allvin has made has not worked. But sure, let him handle the rebuild.

  34. royal_Bishop

The guy is a toxic liability. The league has finally had enough

  35. TruYu96

The only good thing about Kane is that he gives back to the community really well and actually cares about it.

But pls get rid of him

  36. shocked that this was a bad trade, shocked i tell you

  37. Ok-Price-2337

« Lack of production » and he’s Vancouver’s 3rd highest scoring forward lmao.
