I wonder if other GMs know the pressure Treliving is under to make a trade and are unwilling to meet his asking prices for players? It seems to me knowing the situation in Toronto I would not pay a first or multiple seconds for any Leafs player on the block and try to get a "steal".
I get the feeling the Leafs front office is sort of like the UN. There's so many people involved and so many different factions and so many bosses involved that it paralyzes the whole thing from working like it should, or at all.

Yes they do suck. But who wants players who suck? Nobody. So kind of hard to trade any of them. If you're lucky, you may just get a comparable player back. Doesn't help the team. Getting draft picks for them might help, but you need to find a team that's willing to do that.
