  1. As a Rogers fan first and a Leafs fan second, I’m so glad we brought in Pelley to save us money on sports medicine and presidents of hockey operations. With him running the show we will always be profitable.

  2. RapsareChamps_Suckit

I guess Sports racing is consider a sport over baseball according to Forbes

  3. Picklepucks

But then they’d only have about 190.8 million in profits this year with nothing to show for it except a healthier roster that’s happier and more competitive as a result. There’s no way that could drive more profits right?

  4. Svalbard38

Yeah I’m having trouble believing the Leafs are more valuable than every football (soccer) team in the world.

  5. RedditLodgick

Here’s hoping for a Saudi deal before the end of the year 🙏

  6. Ok_Squash_1578

I find this hard to believe. No Yankees?

  7. M0un05ki10

The rich are always first to cry poor.

  8. scottwithonetee

I mean, at least we aren’t Cowboys fans…

  9. This_is_me2024

No no, we’re not a sports team, we’re a product.

  10. im_bozack

F****** wild.  What could the savings possibly be? 300K?

  11. Vivid_Computer_7153

    Something something shareholder value

  12. NightExternal7790

Ah the good ol NHL, handcuffing your most lucrative franchises so the 12 fans in Florida can cheer on perennial champions. Gotta love it!

  13. JDubs234

Exhibit A why the leafs owners don’t give a shit about the on ice product, they make bank regardless of the team is good or bad

  14. Gwenhwyfar666

The funniest thing is seeing Spurs in the list when they’re in a relegation battle.

  15. ArryPotta

I refuse to believe the Leafs are more profitable than the Lakers.

  16. bertojuce

I fairness, it would drop them down to tenth.

  17. codespyder

Cowboys really are a money printing machine. Jesus.

  18. SiriHowDoIAdult

How is any NHL team ahead of ManU?

  19. Ripstate

This list is off by quite a bit. Maybe it’s just for match day ticket sales. There is no world where the spurs are the most profitable football(soccer) team in England let alone the world.

  20. ovondansuchi

Alright, i know the on-ice results don’t support this, but since they might in the future: We might be in for echoes of Ballard here. A $191 million dollar profit is ridiculous. Honestly, I don’t think I would hate any player for leaving the team, considering MLSE cares more about profits than anything else

  21. TheworkingBroseph

Buddy – then profitability would only be $190.5M – they have to eat!

  22. sulien92

Top-10 in profit and can’t do anything right.

Not sure if that says more about the ownership or fans like myself haha

  23. Red_Maple

This is some creative accounting, there is no way on God’s green earth that the Oilers are bringing in more income than fucking Man United.

  24. AdInteresting7039

YES! Look at that value we’re delivering to shareholders!!!! Amazing stuff /s

  25. CubicleMan9000

This is why nothing really changes in Leafs land.

Executives are only held accountable for making investors big money. They are not held accountable for the quality of the product.

  26. madax-gambar

I don’t buy this at all. MLSE owns the Leafs, Raptors and a bunch of other assets under its organization, how is Forbes determining which profit is Leafs and which is Raptors?

  27. Cringelord_420_69

I find this list extremely hard to believe

  28. carletondabare

Apparently not profitable enough to keep a Sports Science Director though.

  29. IandouglasB

Their sports psychology dept. could use a rebuild for a start

  30. Topazpm20

With the insane money they’re paying in baseball, I’m not surprised. Plus hard to fill in a 40,000 stadium if you’re not great. ⚾

  31. Swangthemthings

This list can’t be accurate. Real Madrid and Barca gotta crack the top 20 – they’re arguably the most popular teams in the world regardless of sport.

  32. cornfield123

The oilers are #3 and they literally made us move our homeless shelter so it would be further from the arena. They promised to help us build a new one and are now suing the homeless shelter because they couldn’t raise “there side” of building the new shelter.

  33. Phluxed

Lol like the Dodgers are not making insane amounts of money in Asia right now. Toss the list out.

  34. Harold Ballard would be proud🤦‍♂️. No championships but we keep it in the cheap and are worth millions🤦‍♂️

  35. Shawnaldo7575

If this is true, then NHL players are getting absolutely fleeced by the league. They should be making WAY more money. Their salaries are a joke compared to the other sports leagues. Owners are laughing all the way to the bank.

  36. MJSeals

Who the fuck is giving money to the NY Jets? Stop. Stop it. We need to be not profitable so ownership changes.
