Lou would make this move, and at face value it’s not a TERRIBLE move, but it’s not a good one.
This year is a fluky good year. We don’t need to crash the bank to pray for overachieving in the playoffs. We have a ton of cap space and decent prospects coming the next 2-3 years to make a legitimate run at it before Barzy and Horvat fall off the age cliff.

Not that I’m 100% sold on Aitcheson for reasons discussed elsewhere on this sub but I hate losing trades and St Louis absolutely does not deserve to take a chance with Aitcheson for Kyrou when we are in no way desperate for Kyrou. I’d rather see a big trade like Aitcheson & George/Nelson & and a first for a big-name guy who’s a proven driver instead of supporting cast like Kyrou.

As it should. One of the 1sts, Eiserman, and their choice of any D prospect not named Aitch would be a reasonable package imo. I wouldn’t go any higher than that. Even then, I’d probably rather just stand pat and continue to stock the cupboard. Draft a couple more studs and see what Eiserman can do next year.

The last two games (which also put the comebacks in a slightly different half-full light) may have cemented a stand pat approach. Maybe even a last minute extension or sale of UFAs.
