Wait we traded Buchelnikov too? Fuck dude.

  2. Redwings1023

Oooof Buchelnikov stings a bit not gonna lie.

  3. oceanic8675

Shoooooot, bye Buch didn’t even get to know ya!

  4. gachzonyea

Still a good move not every prospect is going to make it here and play a big role here

  5. PremierBromanov

Sounds like buch might not be a sure thing

  6. Well, last night I complained a bit about Yzerman not using draft picks and unproven assets to get proven NHL players and he did do that so I can’t complain today

  7. Training-Evening9756

More upset about trading Buchelnikov than anything. I was high on him.

  8. imdwalrus

More than a few of you called it – make a big move and people *immediately* complain about the price. This is what trade deadline deals cost.

  9. chipper124

Buch isn’t even in the US yet and there’s no guarantee he ever comes over. I don’t mind this at all.

  10. pigpen95

I’m someone that is very critical of Yzerman but I don’t think adding Buch changes this trade much. We have so many B prospects. We can’t play them all. If this is what it took for us to outbid another team, I’m fine with it.

  11. OK_Turnover2

Absolutely no guarantee Buch ever plays in NA… especially with the current climate of the world.

Bear is putting up better stats and shows more promise than Buch AT A YOUNGER AGE.

This is an okay trade… a needle mover. We dont need the picks or the two players (especially holl).

  12. No_Protection6832

Happy yzerman finally did something, don’t care about our draft picks/prospects on our team. We can’t wait around for another 10 years of missing the playoffs.

comment section proves no one is going to be happy with anything we do.

It hurts to have to have added Buchelnikov, but has anyone noticed how often he has been injured this season and last?

No doubt he has upside, but I am going to assume that the Wings scouts have a better handle on how a prospect’s game is going to translate better than I do from watching YouTube highlights of the guy.

Not to mention, we have plenty of high-potential wingers. Rather Buch than Bear or MBN.

  15. We wanted Yzerman to make a splash. He made a splash without giving up any of our top prospects… can’t be mad. Yeah, there’s a what-if factor to Buch, but if Faulk helps get us into the playoffs it’ll have been more than worth it.

  16. Royal_Application_32

Buchelnikov is a surprise include… hope that doesn’t come back to bite us.

Honestly, given the high prices that were being paid for other players, this was an easy pill to swallow for Faulk. Even with Buchelnikov included, I think I’m okay with it, given the risks associated with him and if/when he even comes over to NA.

Faulk is a huge addition for the Wings. Fills a big hole and he’s not even just a rental.

Lol never having seen a guy play and expecting the 2nd coming of Alexander Ovechhkin

    Glad we upgraded our D

Puts Bernard-Docker in the press box where he belongs

  18. jooseon

Buch stings a bit, but the d-core needed reinforcements. If this helps us get into the playoffs and provide valuable experience for Raymond, Seider, Edvinsson, etc., that would be great.

Red Wing Fans Last Night: « Wake up Stevie!!!! Trade deadline is almost up!!! Do something!!! »

Red Wing Fans Today: « What the hell Stevie!! »

  20. Montgomz

Everybody here complaining about another prospect who is going to be “ready soon” for a guy who can actually shore up our defense now.

Like do y’all just want Stevie to trade for another mid goalie?? We can bring Petr back again lmao

  21. AirFriedSushi

I have been hearing about Buch for what seems like a decade. Prospects are just that, prospects.

  22. SodapopPulsar

I really liked Buch and wanted him to be a Wing, and I think he’s an NHL player some day, but we have never known when or if he even plans on coming over and he’s realistically not one of our top prospects. Bear and MBN are both more valuable wingers. also most of the 900 prospects we currently have aren’t going to stay here.

Looking at guys like Plante, Lombardi, Genborg, Solomon, and Augustine, all prospects I really like and want all of them to stay in the org, and at least 3 of those guys will prolly end up traded and never playing here. is what it is. Acquiring a right shot D that can contribute in the top half of our lineup right now in exchange for pure futures is the reality of the NHL.

  23. KingdokCAN

Would have loved to see Buch in a Wings uniform but who knows if he was even gunna come over.

    Ah well

  24. Kyta_ENT

Cost of doing business is high. We have many foreward prospects. This trade will only sting if we miss the playoffs. Best of luck to Buch on his journey to NA, just wish it was with us.

  25. HenlickZetterbark

No tok worried about Buch. KHL is not the league it was so putting up big numbers there may not mean what it used too

  26. bestprocrastinator

I didn’t want Buch to go, but this is what it costs to do trades in a deadline sellers market.

Fucking Nicolas Roy went for a 1st this year.

  27. It’s funny how just the last few threads I kept trying to emphasize the price for players we want is going to be so insanely high no one will like it.

Everyone shit on me saying we could have basically traded Danielson a first and wallinder for Robert Thomas. Or the equivalent of this trade for trocheck.

Look at this deal and tell me how much you think Thomas costs now.

Personally I said I would have rather Yzerman not made any deals but I’m mostly ok with this one even tho I hate losing buch who I’m high on.

There’s still uncertainty if he comes here anytime soon, And we have similar prospects coming likely faster all while we need help on D right NOW. So overall it isn’t horrible.

  28. Fit-Farmer-8112

    I’m honestly not mad.

Holl, Buch, Elmer & First for Faulk? Seems like an appropriate price given what everyone else has gone for this TDL.

  29. Wingnut17

Welp Buch could have been fun but we didn’t trade for a rental. Faulk could be our ghost and maybe re sign him a few more years since our d prospects are non existent.

  30. 2IWontBeHereLong

I’d rather have gotten a younger guy, like Thomas for example. But I like Faulk it’s a position of need. Buchelnikov, as much as we might like his potential is an unknown.

  31. I_Keepz_ITz_100

As for the trade itself, product of business, the 1st is a low round draft pick and 3rd, Justin Holl is of no consequence whatsoever, and although I had dreams of Buch being our Kucherov, he’d have been here if he had that skill. If Faulk can be a heavy contributing factor in a deep playoff run, the price is worth it
