Maybe at some point, Zegras can make the transition, but he doesn’t look as good in the middle if I’m being 100% honest with myself.
Bobby Brink has amazing potential, but he disappears for too many games in a row for me to cry about his departure.
Good luck to him out west.
If Zegras is a wing (I am not saying he isnt), then we need to probably dumb 2 more wings by next year.
I don’t know if he can put on like 15 pounds of muscle, but if he did, he’d be more effective in the center role. He’s just too skinny to dominate at the position I think.
Getting rid of just brink didn’t solve the logjam
Honestly clearing out a Wing either now or this summer was the number 1 thing that needed to be accomplished.

Would have loved to see tippett traded before his NMC kicks in. But, the flyera is strong.
Zegras on the wing is 100% the fault of Tocchet. Tricky Dicky doesn’t want to work with players in terms of them getting to play their spots. Briere sold everybody on Zegras being a center and then Tocchet basically said hold my beer. They have fucked things up here and after today, the Flyers need to do a complete house cleaning. Management needs to be fired, senior advisors need to be fired and the coaching staff needs to have an incredibly short leash. The Flyers are officially the laughing stock of the NHL. It’s embarrassing.

The writing was on the wall with Zegras. People who thought he could be a #1C were delusional. Sorry, not sorry. There was never a scenario where he is a #1 guy in the NHL
The wing logjam was a much needed reason for the trade. Brink was a good soldier but unfortunately he had to take one for the team here. He was probably the best option to move as Tippett has the higher upside potential especially with his more consistent play this season and willingness to finally start using his size.
