It turns out Brad Treliving is just a bad GM. He really took a Leafs team that had high end offensive skill and made them old and slow in an effort to make them tougher to play against.

Watching leafs fans turn on him has been amazing, like we told you, we told you.

How do we get him hired in Edmonton?

The only thing that sucks is that Murray Edwards apparently had a ‘dont trade with Treliving’ rule last year. We could’ve absolutely robbed all their picks/prospects with Andersson and Kadri.

As a Calgary resident who’s also a leafs fan (flames are a very close second) – seeing him hired in Toronto was a tough day!

Part of his job is draft analysis and drafting. They really don’t have a ton in the pipeline it seems. That’s a reflection of him.

Truly a beautiful description of unqualified nepo babies failing up only for daddy’s money not to be enough to shield them from clearly being the worst gm in a sports full of gm’s with CTE.

I don’t think Treliving is as bad of a GM as some people do, but he demonstrated in Calgary he is not well suited to get a team over the hump; and his time in Toronto has just solidified that opinion. His moves to turn a playoff team into a contender or cup favorite seem to backfire more often than not, and that makes him a terrible candidate for the position the Leafs were in.
With that said, I could see him performing well for teams that are starting a rebuild like Vancouver or St Louis. He seems to have the ability to draft well and secure RFAs to good long term contracts; I just wouldn’t want him near signing or trading for players over 27 years old.

The failings lie squarely on him. He tried to manufacture something that just wasn’t there. Traded all picks and prospects and then his two stars fucked him.
