Next step is 11 Stanley cups 😊

  3. Wow. That’s huge. 11 more games until March 30. Pocket Rocket had a 19 season career. All with the Habs. Hope we can keep Slafkovsky for his whole career too lol.

    2 points yesterday, 3 points today 🌶️🌶️🥵🥵🥵🥵

  6. Remember when people called Slaf a bust? Within the next few years he’ll likely be considered one of the elite power forwards in the game if he continues to grow how he has been.
Habs are lucky to have him. Us fans are lucky to get to watch him grow into his potential.

Also, Suzuki just surpassed Pacioretty for points with the habs

The thread title is wrong – the stat cited is about total career points before turning 22, not points in a season before turning 22. Slafs does not own the single season Habs record before turning 22. He is, however, the first Hab to ever notch three 50 point seasons before turning 22.

As for the single season record before turning 22, yeah that still belongs to Henri Richard:

Henri Richard turned 22 at the end of February 1958. In 56-57, Richard scored 54 points in 63 games (it was a 70 game season then) but the following season, Richard was 21 for all but the last 3 weeks. That year, he scored 80 points in 67 games and in game 56 for the team he notched is 69th point – just days before he turned 22.

As for total career points with the Habs before turning 22, yeah, Slafs now has 163 to tie Richard’s 163. Richard achieved that on a high-flying Canadiens squad that scored at will and he did it in 184 games over his first three seasons. Last night was Slafs’ 262nd game.

I barely remember Henri – I really only started watching hockey toward the end of his career. Henri settled into being a ~20 goal scorer and fell off that pace by his early 30s – a few years before I became a fan. I do remember him scoring his 19th goal in 1974 when he was 38 years old. There were a few games left in the season and I remember wishing for him to hit 20 goals. He finished out that year, played a few games the following year and retired shortly thereafter, having notched over 1,000 points for the Habs over his very long career.

I’m 63, I never miss a game. This record has stood since 4-5 years before I was born…

How does the tweet not include the number of points.
