Well I never seen the Whalers myself but I did see the Farm team and Goalie Manny Lagace play. They were the Springfield Indians. I saw them play 1995 or somewhere around then. They were named the indians after the motorcycle company based in Springfield MA. I only live a few blocks away from the factory

Ladies and gents, the 'Hart-alina Whale-icanes'. I really like the jersey and I totally get why they've done this (twice now), but would have preferred to see Carolina use one of THEIR old jerseys, a light grey version of their original home jersey maybe. Won't be buying it, but the jersey design gets 8 / 10.
I'd put this one in the Top 5. The old Whalers logo is still one of the NHL all time greats. I'd love to see the Canes wear this one in at least a half dozen games next season.

I really want to love this jersey, but I’m not a fan of the sleeves and bottom of the jersey having different striping patterns. I do like the green whalers jersey better so I’ll probably end up getting it instead, but this is definitely not to be slept on

They are trolling the Hartford Whalers fans. I don't care what the NHL says, but when a team is stolen from a city that name, colors, logos, jersey, and records stay in that city.
Points for Puckey the Whale. It is just kinda weird to put a different team’s logo on your jersey. The logo is an H in a W, so I get Carolina feeling under represented. I would have jumped on a green and blue schemed Hurricane’s jersey, similar to what Minnesota did with their North Star tribute.
6/10, looks great and I get the appeal, but has some issues.
As long as they don't bring back the cooperalls for their pants I'm fine with this jersey always loved the Hartford colours.
This jersey is so cool and I am glad that the Hurricanes decided to use the Whalers' theme again for this new jersey! One of the best sports logos of all-time!

I would've liked to see a Colorado or Minnesota. Wither WHalers in Hurricanes colours or Hurricanes in Whalers.

So Neil, as a Canes STM and a fan of the franchise in general. I will be getting this. It's beautiful. The whole thing about grey tying the two franchises together I dont really buy. Tom Dundon HATES white jerseys so I'm not surprised. With this being a reimagining of a classic jersey I'm going with a current player. Currently have 9 Canes jerseys, 2 Old School, 2 Reebok, and 5 Adidas. I Francis, Brind'Amour, Ward, Eric Stall, Jordan Stall, Mrazek, Aho, Hamilton, and Slavin. My new Whale? Svech hands down.

This reverse retro design has a nice touch of grey which adds character to the history of the Whalers.

Carolina Hurricanes is one of the most 'meh' teams in design/logo.
On the other hand seeing gray color base of the unirom on a jersey with Whalers logo is double 'meh'. LOL
