Brian and Scott, you still have a shot at making the team, you know. Still young.
Yea shoutout to shiner ❤
Axel Sandine, just needs to get stronger… he will be just fine but he’s small and when you’re small you have to be strong… they need to get him in the weight room.
Moritz Seider, future captain.
Would have felt much better had the Wings been able to dump Rasmussen instead of Soderblom, but if this is what it took to get a Faulk and a 3rd round pick, so be it…. Faulk does look good. Hoping Faulk's experience will help on the blue line long-term.
I had high hopes for Elmer as well but I think for his size he was too much the friendly giant. I remember one game this year when there was a scrum near the boards and a much smaller player was trying to punch him and instead of just hammering the guy Elmer was just a kitty ca
SHINE… Shine on you crazy diamond.
Considering the prospects we have in GR, im not to bummed about losing a first round pick for a D-man that could be a Red Wing for a long time. And I suspect Stevie is going to snag a top name player next year that nullifies the first round lose.
Not to mention Aljo might be playing the best hockey of his life. He’s been impressive lately.
Nygaard had more hits after the firat than the entire team. Kid is an absolute unit and trucked 2 guys. He gave them something they've been missing all year, and if he can put the ouck on net more often he shoupdnt go back down even when larkin returns. Rasmussen is still worthless, and copp cant put the puck in an open net, they had to have kane take pp faceoffs just so copp wasnt on the ice 4v3 or when they were 4v4 right before they went 5v4. They need a 2c bad.
Seider probably had a great game because faulk played so many quality minutes, the way he effortlessly knocked the puck down on a mid waist rim around and went up ice is something even seider doesnt do and will learn from faulk how to do better. Their d is all good now. But they desperately need another 2c.
Faulk looked REALLY good in this first game. He's here next year, too…….so I'd imagine ASP is going to become a professional eater this summer and bulk up. That right side D could be stellar.
You never even sniffed the Perron move. Jam packed but not enough space to talk about a guy you guys tore the paint off the walls over when he left? What's happened to journalism these days…
In Faulk We Trust.
He said he’s doing everything in his power from his apartment to pray the universe chills till we get Larkin and Gibson back. But I’d say it might be better to pray that they just do well in their absence.
If mbn gets sent down I'll crash out, he looked incredible.
I love asp’s potential but I do think docker has been decent defensively lately. I’d love to see the metric comparison
Scotty, When the great Oracle Brian has spoken you say thank you.
Yzerman is having his best year as GM of the Wings and the team is having their best year since he took the job. Coincidence?
I don't think I've ever seen a player make such a smooth entry to the team than Justin Faulk. Post game he was really happy with the pace and attitude of the team and Benny.
I was waiting for this trade all season. ASP should be sent to Grand Rapids & play top pair minutes. That's where he would have been if the Wings had Faulk or another better D all season. Soderblom blew his chances & it was time to move on. Buchelnikov is 1 of many winger prospects & he was getting pushed down the rankings. Too many questions with him. Sucks to lose a 1st, but expected for a top 4 D.
Don't really get the Faulk hype. Sure, he's not bad, but he's not very good either, regardless of how he has played in his last game.
Dmitri Buchelnikov was scouted by Federov the night before the trade which says something about how the organization felt about his potential prospects.
Any of our NCAA players capable? Plante?
Dominik Shine surely is going to get some Calder Votes this season
Living in the nyc area, I don't get to see the Wings on cable very often. Mo was a force as always taking shots on net and scoring as well as assisting on the other two goals. His defense was incredible as always. Ajoi looked terrific all night playing very solid defense and battling along the boards. Faulk is a great pick up and should be a major upgrade on thw blue line. Congrats for "Shine getting his first NHL goal. Ray L
Faulk is a big step up in that D pair. He was solid as a rock at both ends of the ice last night. Got robbed on that mini breakaway too. Loving seeing some 5 on 5 goals too.
Gibson listed day-to-day from yesterday. Hopefully by tomorrow he's good to go. Talbot looked really good in the 3rd period, and how much of that was the improved defense with Faulk?!?!!!! Hopefully the day-to-day injuries Gibson has taken don't affect his play when he returns, that he's truly back to near health.
Seider was ripping from the blue line according to him because their pre-scouting of NJ showed they pressure at the blue line, leaving space up near the net. So before they could pressure too much, he would send pucks deep where there was space net-front. Smart work by their coaches.
