@Red Wings de Détroit

Im local to GR and have loved watching him at Van Andel with the Griffs, so happy to see him in the big leagues now

you could tell it meant a lot to him by the way he celebrated. It’s good to see him do well, especially with the wings.

Let’s go! Love the energy from the youth on this team.

Shine was a wings fan growing up. Perseverance to a T

Insane story. I went to LSSU and basically all those dudes start out at like 20 as freshmen, player 4 years, and then immediately fizzle out in the AHL. If they’re lucky they’ll make it 2.5 seasons before getting cut. Happy for this dude.

That’ll look good framed on the mantle

This is what grit is all about a kid that has worked hard in the minors for years and getting opportunities to be called up and contribute. Shine could have hanged up the skates a few years ago yet keeps contributing at both levels.

As an NMU alum, super happy. He and Coreau are the only two to come out of that school and make something of themselves. Not much of a career but good to see him succeed. Unfortunately other than that, we wildcats have nothing. Our programs are abysmal.

Becoming an NHL player is one of the hardest things a person can do, I don’t think even us long-time fans really understand just how hard it is to get there. Dom got there by never feeling « above » where he is. He plays with grit, passion, and commitment. I don’t care if you net 500 goals, or your first goal was at 18. To score *at all* in the NHL is a rare thing for a hockey player to get the opportunity to do, and you only get the opportunity to do it if you have earned it.

    Congrats, Shiner!
