Little interview the Griffins media team put together. Had no idea what his journey was, so it was a great watch!

This is a legit question. He is obviously dominant with the Griffins so why hasn’t he had more career in the NHL (Wings or elsewhere)? Kirk Maltby had a long NHL career and nobody would call him dominant. Real question.

We all know it but still…getting into an AHL club at 23-24 years old. Grinding it out. 7-8 years later you get some games in the show. Then another season later, a call up and a goal in the NHL. Just such a cool story to see someone at work stick with it for so long and eventually get such a neat payoff way past the time when you’d reasonably expect to do so. Seeing that stat that he’s the oldest player in like 3 decades to get their first NHL goal save for Rinne scoring a goal goal at 37. Must have gone to bed feeling like a million bucks.
