Just a ridiculous save. Is it safe to say this was the best goaltending performance we’ve received all year? Considering the importance of this game I think so.
The way he comes back into his natural position is impressive. If you show to the opponent team how »easy » those tough saves look, it’s definitely playing on their mental. Price did exactly that.
Dobes often makes big saves with sheer willpower. Looks like Fowler makes more saves with sound technique.

Fowler probably would’ve like to save that first shot with his glove and get a whistle but what a save, my god.

I can see why Danault gave him a big hug after the game, he had an up close view of the 2 save sequence.
He did a Top Job last night. May he have many more. Do we get Jacob with a « C » or Jakob with a « K » Saturday? I will take either one. The Washington-Boston game is in the afternoon, Saturday so I will not have to listen to the Habs while being at Capital One.
That’s the save we’ve been missing all season. Imagine how many more regulation wins we would have with saves like that when defending 1 goal leads
Danault was also immense defensively last night. Was at the game and he just seems to be well positioned most of the time. He might not be the fastest but he sees the game very well
That poke check into a pad deflection midway through the game, while not something extraordinary, was exactly the kind of play we’ve been missing in net.
I know everyone has made the Carey comparison but the composure and calmness Fowler shows is where the biggest Carey similarity is for me man. What a save. Wow

What’s even more amazing than that save is that the NHL statisticians didn’t credit Fowler for the save – apparently, it was deemed not to have been a shot on goal.
