@Blackhawks de Chicago

Pourquoi Andrew Mangiapane a-t-il plus de temps de jeu avec les Blackhawks que Nick Lardis ? (lien cadeau de The Athletic

On dirait que l’entraîneur-chef et le directeur général sont sur des pages complètement différentes quant à la façon dont ces 18 derniers matchs devraient se dérouler.

    Yeah that’s a great question

    He played 7 minutes on just one game, then played 12 the next. He’s been averaging 12-13 this season, so there was just one game where he played less minutes and it was the first game after acquiring a new forward.

    We’ll see how he utilizes the young players in the future. But we have seen he isn’t afraid to utilize younger guys, Levshunov Rinzel Moore are good examples. He also has stated outright ice time is earned not given based on draft spot or prospect rankings.

    We’ll see how it goes. I do think this team will be hard to project next year due to how young it is and how many rookies we will have.

    Lardis said himself that he was overwhelmed during his first call up. I don’t think it’s worth over-analyzing why a rookie 20 year old plays a few games on the 4th line.

    Why is Laz trying to make something out of nothing?

    Because he’s been better. Not that Lardis has been bad but mangiapane has been one of our most noticeable forwards since coming over.

    As “Bk B” says in the comments:

    “TOI battle shouldn’t be Mangiapane OR Lardis. It should be Mangiapane AND Lardis. Mangiapane has been solid in the short sample size and we’ve seen glimpses of the Lardis to come. Please for the love of god get Burakovsky off the line with Bedard and give those minutes to the MangoLardi Pardi”
