I have checked and Mathews is legally able, because of Canadian law, to sue this throw over from the Neanderthal days. I would so love to see it happen. Teach the goon a lesson.

This is why I do not watch NHL games, too much violence. Maybe if they started ejecting more players for fighting then hockey could get back to being hockey and not unrestrained violence. For the record, I used to enjoy hockey.
That's potentially a career ending shot – Gudas needs his career ended. F, I hate these cowards who play like this, and of course, The NHL, in all its "integrity", continues to allow them to play… Sickening. I've been watching this since Bobby Orr had his career shortened by these "checks"; and they're still happening, because The NHL ALLOWS THEM. Gudas isn't a hockey player, he plays to only hurts a key player with his dirty check with his knees.
I don't like the Leafs but when it come to this sort of dirty play against a key player like Matthews, I get frustrated even if it's another player from a different team.
A reminder that he did the same thing when he was with the Florida Panthers, he tried to injure I think was Dach from Montreal. Arber Xhejak was looking for him on the ice but Gudas avoided to be on the ice at the same time as Arber because he knew Arber would had fed him with his knuckles, however, Arber has a long memory and he will get him one way or another.
I know in two days Montreal is playing against Anaheim but since Gudas is on 5 games suspension, Arber will not be able to get this dirty son of a gone. But their is always next year Arber will get him but I wish someone from another team gets him before the end of this season

I’m a Ducks fan and by no means a hockey expert. But in my opinion, it doesn’t look like an intentionally malicious foul to me at all. Is it being hyped up because of the fact that Matthew’s got injured? I have seen much worse things happen on a hockey rink. To call for the offender to be removed from the NHL forever for that??? 😂 Soft. Don’t get mad just my humble opinion. Maybe the reason the Leafs players didn’t get involved is because it looked so innocuous. “Targeting the knee”? That’s a stretch.
The leafs did nothing about it. Sad. Having had that exact injury myself that is a 6 month to a year recovery time. Possible cadaver implant such as in my case. Post operation is extremely painful and long duration for recovery. The suspension given to the Duck player for what Mathews is going to go through was pathetic.
