    Had no idea his partner was pregnant. Obviously that played into the trade deadline. My wife and I just had our first, I couldn’t imagine being traded any time around the birth.

    Ah so that’s why he wasn’t traded. Same as Mitch last year (with the NTC of course). We continue to be an accommodating organization with no results to show for it. Players come here and coast. The metrolinx of the NHL.

    A lot of NHL babies seem to be born around the deadline – summer break 9 months before. Last year marner partially didn’t want to be traded cause his kid was almost due as well.
