@Maple Leafs de Toronto

Cette équipe a toujours gagné sans Auston Matthews

J’envisagerais sérieusement de l’échanger cet été. Pensées?

I mean their record without him all time is much higher than that considering they are an original 6 team.

« I would seriously consider trading him this summer »

    You can’t be serious.

  3. Didn’t learn from driving Marner out last year?

  4. benjals

We might have the dumbest fucking fans in the league

  5. Neat_Friendship194

Nooooooooo. I’m still salty about things but don’t push this guy out

  6. MrJeffA17

I seriously consider trading YOU this summer!

  7. StonedSoldier1

They also consistently won with him. 338 wins, 179 losses, and 74 ot losses. Marner was a player who the leafs had a losing record without him in the line up, so they consistently lost without Marner. Look how this seasons going for us. We need to find a replacement for Marner, not lose Matthews too.

Overall this core needs to be broken up for the next era. If part of a successful plan involves trading him, then do it. Because he hasn’t been able to get it done in the playoffs.

Didn’t they have a great record without Marner prior to this year too?

It’s a psychological boost. The rest of the team knows he’s out, so they can’t rely on him to do it all, so their effort is a little bit higher. This only usually lasts a few games.

When that becomes permanent the boost goes away, because their effort level drops back down as they start to rely on other players.

This happens in other sports too.

I mean it’s not a small sample size and is quite telling, but would like to see him play under a different coach first again. Two down years = two years under Berube. Either way, elite scorer or not they have a pretty impressive record without him.

  12. joloumew

Sure, let’s trade their leading goal scorer. Makes perfect sense. 🤨

  13. MitchIsMe9913

we are not a better overall team in an 82-game season without this guy

  14. Despite being called a trash fan, I much prefer being trash to being called garbage.

  15. Nah, we ain’t trading coach Matthews, what are you thinking buddy?

Let our best player go and win a cup, again? No! Life is suffering!

  16. LongjumpingDiver8773

The thing about the with/without him stats is that we only know how they play without him when they usually have him. If that makes sense. Like if he wasn’t on the team at all I don’t think we’d see the same results. It’s specifically with him out of a lineup he’s usually in, everybody else steps up.

Gosh this is Marner all over again

  18. scotch_neat1

The Raptors had a winning record without Kawhai in 2019 they still needed him in the playoffs

  19. JohnyBravo87

This is the dumbest shit ever. No wonder no one wants to play here.

  20. BasketFormal6336

No, they have played way more games than that

  21. DC-Toronto

    Lol. Trade him this summer?

Do we even have an update on his injury? Prognosis for recovery?

How many teams want a damaged underachiever with the highest salary in the league?

Our window was the trade deadline. Leafs dithered again and will lose Matthews for nothing just like Marner.

  22. Lil_Boosie_Vert

I would kill someone if auston matthews told me too

  23. pizzaworks

Just a heads up, Statmuse sucks and is often wrong / AI hallucinations. I’d look to stathead or some other reputable source for this before trusting it.

  24. smoak_ed

This isn’t shocking for anyone who has watched during Matthews tenure

  25. unvrlstn

I dont understand a Leafs fan wanting to keep Auston Matthews at this point…

Gotta use your head and realize that it’s just not working.

Enough of the fan boy bullshit; It hasn’t worked, it wont work and thats that. No one player is bigger than the success of the team.
