I love most of the new editions for different reasons. Mantha has no business being as smooth as he is for his size. Kindel is tiny and young but plays with such a high IQ and maturity. Chinakov’s wrister breaks the sound barrier.
Do I think we will win the cup? No. But this team is a lot more fun to watch this year than I was anticipating
Saw this in person and could not believe he was able to disrupt this breakaway without drawing a penalty. No panic, just solid defending.
Pay the damn man
He has stepped up as much as anyone to be a leader of this team while the big two were out.
I know we all thought when he was signed to the one year deal, that if he did what he’s done, he would be flipped at the deadline, but honestly KD and DM saw what we all did – he’s too important to this team and too well liked in that room to be traded.
We’ve got piles of money, there will be no free agents at his level this summer, and if anyone says « he doesn’t fit the timeline » I will resist the urge to bludgeon you over head with the fact that you cannot ice a team of 26 and under and expect a good room, good result, or a good team.
You need some guys like that. Give him 3x whatever it takes.
