If Zegras continues to play and grow at center, Mich can get back on track, Foerster is healthy, Vladar doesn’t turn into a pumpkin, and they are lucky in the health department they could be a bubble team.
That’s a lot of « ifs » but that’s what rebuilding is. The young guys are getting here. Either they continue to develop in an upwards trajectory or Danny was wrong about evaluating talent and we’ll just need to wait the 5 years before the wheels completely come off and everyone gets fired.
I like the way you are thinking, but I think a few of these players, especially TK will not be moved to out of current positions.
If there are no trades, I think we see:
Tipp – Zegras – TK
Foerster – Dvorak – Michkov
Bump – Cates – Martone
Barkey – Cootes – Grebenkin
Sanheim – Drysdale
York – Risto
Seeler – Jiricek
Vladar
Backup Goalie
i’m actually not upset with this…should be fun to watch
I like OP’s projected lineup.
Jiricek I believe has to be on the team, in which case, we better play him. I don’t love Andrae as a #7, and he and Jiricek together might be a train wreck…my guess is Andrae is moved in the offseason. Flyers will acquire a nice safe veteran Dman, then proceed to scratch Jiricek for said dman.
Pretty much right for forwards. I think there’s been reporting that Seeler and Risto could move in the off-season for Bonk, Jiricek to get regular defense roles. Bonk I’m less sure if the reporter was a legit one.
Team should continue to improve, and we just need to be patient for centre help.
Risto is traded before the season and Jiricek is on the bottom pair with Seeler.
They’re gonna have to move another wing or two this off season. And move risto if they think Bonk is ready
swap Cates for Dvorak & Forester for Martone
I just don’t think they’re gonna give Zegras a full time center position despite the wing depth. I feel like he’s destined for LW long term.
Man coots really throws a wrench into things here
Looks very bland and mediocre yet again
Someone had mentioned before that Foerster was LW in the cates/brink line, so I could see him staying LW and TK being RW. Other than that I like the lines. Could see Bump being 3rd line over Barkey as well will be good internal competition either way.
For what it’s worth – Ziggy ain’t playing center. Danny basically said that at a recent presser. “He’ played his best games for us the wing”. (Or something close to that)
That would be the softest team in the NHL. Not sure that’s the type of lineup we want.
Not sure why we just put every winger on their off wing but hey
What are the odds they trade dvorak this summer? I’d really love if luchanko could make the team next year, we sorely need his speed, but he hasn’t been blowing me away this year in the OHL – but if dvorak were traded, they would almost have to bring luchanko up full time, no?
They need to sign or trade for one decent center. I sick of Coots and Cates
Man this smells like mid
I really hope Zegras can stick at C, thats the key to making our roster look good. Jiricek 3rd pair and PP1 QB is hopefully the plan, he’s got a lot to improve on but has looked very talented on the pp in Lehigh valley. Ready to add martone and get foerster back and dare I say I’m a little hopeful and liking our roster’s young talent. Gotta be one of the younger rosters in the league
Foerster – Cates – Konecny
Zegras – Dvorak – Martone
Tippett – luchanko – Michkov
Bump – Couturier – Grebenkin
Barkey – Hathaway
Sanheim – Ristolainen
York – Drysdale
Andrae – Jiricek
Seeler
Foersters largely been excelling on the left and Martone is a weapon in the O-zone that I bet hits the ground running if you put him with the right line. I hope Zegras continues to improve at center. I’m not penning him in at 1C or 2C, however we still have a wealth of wingers going into next season, so he should keep getting reps there. I’d start the season like this…
Tippett – Dvorak – TK
Foerster – Zegras – Martone
Barkey – Cates – Mich
Bump – Coots – Grebenkin
Then I’d try inserting Luchanko and maybe Berglund at times during the season at center.
Im not sold on Z being a long term center. Pretty sure when briere talked about winger logjam he mentioned Z too…but other than the positional nitpick I do agree that that group of names will make up the team next year unless they pull off a robert Thomas trade…I like tippett but have wondered about him being a big piece in a trade package and having Z take his wing spot
Just hope foerster can stay healthy next year, kid is sooo good
I cant wait to see TK and martone on same team. Tk is gonna love that kids edge; ditto the fans. I can already imagine a scenario next year where martone pulls some shit and tk is just like » omg hes a rat just like me » lol those 2 are gonna terrorize opponents
I believe Risto is traded as well as Hathaway this offseason and I will drop in my idea for a backup goalie
TK Zegras Michkov
Foerster Cates Martone
Tippett Dvo Bump
Barkey Coots Jett
Sanheim York
Hunter MacDonald Drysdale
Seeler Andrae
Dustin Wolf
Vlad
Scratch Ginning Ersson (no more ebug after this year there is a third goalie slot) Hathaway and Abols
