« Il a complètement changé sa mentalité » : le travail de Pettersson brille dans la victoire des Canucks de Vancouver

https://www.ctvnews.ca/vancouver/sports/article/hes-changed-his-whole-mindset-petterssons-work-shines-in-vancouver-canucks-win/

« he’s changed his whole mind set » can’t wait for it to go back to the previous 2 years in the next game.

Great happy for him cool awesome love to see it

Now let’s string together more than one game, or five, and actually make a season out of it

    Next year

  3. Additional_Slice768

He’s gone through a lot. I say let’s give him a break and wait and see.

  4. IdaRed17

He scored two goals in a game. Lets seem consistently show up next year from the start when things matter

Probably the most boring topic that could’ve been debated as nauseum for 2 years yet here we are

It’s ok, you can be bad for like 15 more games. Don’t turn it in NOW. Of all times to return to form…

Guys scores 2 goals in a game where he went 20 dry and the articles already start coming out lol

  9. slashdotnot

Lol do we ever learn? For the past 2 seasons after every one off good game performance suddenly we’re shouting « Petey’s back!! »

And then we return to the usual slump….

Why the fuck would Foote say this and throw more coals on the fire. Dude had a wicked game, ride the wave.

He was depressed and seems to be finding his way out of the rut. If people don’t understand what depression is, look it up. I’ve been through it countless times, and when you’re stuck there, sometimes there’s literally nothing you can do to get yourself out.

You know, it’s don’t blame him for checking out at work. If I got scammed on my dream house, my wife had a miscarriage, I got hurt at work and my boss wasn’t accommodating, and an asshole at work was bullying me while our boss supported him, I’d probably check the fuck out too. For $11.7 million I would probably lock back in though.

Glad to hear his mindset is changing. I highly doubt it was 4-6 weeks ago because that’s the olympics and Foote wouldn’t have been around him.

Maybe it was post olympics and the experience changed his mindset. Maybe it’s just pumping him up to trade him. Maybe it’s the team being younger and more Europeans around.

As transparent a tradeability push as you’ll ever see.

He has 5 pts in last 6 weeks. Back in the 2018 and 2022 seasons, petey had 2 5 pt games in the first 2 months of the season. Guy used to be so electric.

He also has 38 games with 3+ pts and only 2 of those came in the last 2 seasons.

« He comes out early, he goes the bike after games » i literally thought that’s what he did since day one he signed the big contract and that it was more of a mental thing he was going though

    We’ve gone from….

Tocchet praising Petey’s work ethic to Petey might’ve hurt his knee to Petey isn’t working hard enough to Petey’s knee was definitely injured, but he’s still not working hard enough to Petey has no excuses he just doesn’t work hard to Petey worked hard and that’s why he scored points.

Next episode: despite Petey’s best efforts, does the team continue to suck ass? OR do we go on a late run to bump us out of a top draft spot Find out on next episode of Experience Canucks Hockey

Working on getting traded, you have to start somewhere

It’s amazing what a positive work environment will do

  19. bustervincent

Of all players drafted by the canucks, Petey ranks 2nd in points per game behind only Pavel Bure, and this includes his 2 stinker seasons. Give the man a break. Let him find his game. And so what if the media is pumping him up when he has a good game? He clearly doesn’t do well when everyone is constantly on his ass, so maybe a little positivity will help?

Breaking news: 11.4 million dollar player plays like 11.4 million dollar player for 1 game.

Sorry, I know it’s Jaded, but the optimism is cautious. He needs to be putting up a game like that at least a handful of times a month.

  21. Ba_Dum_Ba_Dum

Great timing petey. Just when we’re about to finish dead last to f@&$ing Flames!

  22. MayAsWellStopLurking

I wouldn’t read too much into it.

Foote also said he wanted Myers in warmups while he was held out of the lineup for roster management reasons.

What does this tell me? Foote kind of just says stuff.

It may have been a recent mindset change, maybe things just started going in and he wants to gas him up in the press.

The hard reality is whether you as a fan want him staying or going, improved and consistent play definitely benefits the team.
