Goaltender Quadrilateral?
Why would we want someone who is performing the same as Freddie and also old.
Take the name out of the equation.
This would 100% be kicking the can down the road another season or two because they don’t yet think Kooch or Bussi are ready to be THE guy, but are also hoping one of them might still get there, and don’t want to make a splash on a long term free agent goalie.
Bob is staying in Florida. If he was going to leave the Panthers would have traded him at the deadline.
Rumors are we’re moving on from Freddie next year, which is no surprise. I like Bus and Pyotr, but that’s solid, not elite goaltending. The Canes should be in search of at least top 10ish goaltending, so if Bob is free this off-season, give him the bag. It’s our biggest weakness apart from not having a top 10 player.
