The VGK body language coming off the ice after the first period told me everything I needed to know. They were defeated. Bruce and 1/2 the team need to find a good realtor.
The guys that are paid $$$millions to score need to score. They haven't in 10 periods. Why does Eichel practice one timers pregame but then passes up on every one he's given during the PP?
I think you're right that Jeremy "One Punch" Lauzon is trending up. He's playing hard and tough.
Here's a fun thought exercise: what would this team look like if we kept everyone after the cup year?

The knights are underachieving for whatever reason. The talent and skill set are there. Not Cassidy fault. Adin Hill time has come and gone.
The ExPat Preds helped to score 2 of their old teams goals with the flubbed attempted clear by Cole Smith on the cross ice pass that led to the 2nd goal and then Lauzon trying to block the shot but missed the block. Dowd with the unnecessary slashing that led to the 4th goal. Marners pass? WTF. I suggested Hutton be placed back in the lineup as at least he has scored goals for us and usually puts pucks on the net. He should be left in the lineup. Whitecloud trade was a mistake.
Anaheim Mighty Ducks will win the Pacific division easily. Vegas Golden Knights will make the playoffs!!!

Man what a season for VGK. They were so favored in the summer as being a power house. And well it’s just not been that kind of season
Vgk have lost 16 times since January 5. They have been outshot 3 times in those games. Often near double the shot totals. You win just 2 of those and your in first. Even with below average tending vgk wins 10 of those. Haven't done the math but I would hazard a guess in those 16 loses the tending might be below .800.

I've had my finger on the panic button all season long. I knew there was something not quite right about this team, in spite of being in 1st place for most of the season. It was the WAY we were earning points that concerned me.
Actually a decent roster on paper. Maybe Cassidy's schemes don't fit the way the roster is built? Maybe? The defense is porous! I do know that! Plus, no one eats pucks the way Alec Martinez did, and we are definately missing Alex Pietrangelo.
Did McKrimmon roll the dice too much, and build the roster wrong, trading off the wrong players? Is the locker room an issue? Because the chemistry just doesn't seem to be there. No identity.
I really don't want to blame it all on goaltending. If the team plays better in front of their goalie, he can win more games. BUT,…..right now, I don't think our goaltending can steal games like a goalie needs to.
VGK has a myriad of issues, in my opinion, and I have no idea how they can fix them, because the team look strong on paper.
I've only been a fan since the team came to town. I'm willing to listen to any experienced hockey fans for what they think the issues are. Any thoughts?

The panic button was pressed in January.
This team, aside from having a couple of win streaks, has consistently been bad all season. It's masked by all the OT points and 3rd-period comebacks, but neither of those things are happening anymore.
There is no chemistry, it doesn't look like they're talking to each other on the ice, the goaltending is abysmal, the offense is somehow worse than last year, and the defense is also bad.
They can play to their potential (see those games against Toronto) only very rarely.
McCrimmon should be on the hot seat, never thought I'd say that.
100% missing the playoffs this year.
