    …i also dont think a lot of canucks fans realize how Verhoeff, Reid, and Malholtra are now in the same tier.

    Not guaranteed Verhoeff is the number 3 pick more and more are saying Chase Reid is the better defenceman

    with the canucks I keep my expectations low (helps keep my mental health in check), so I’m content with 3OA but if we get anything higher that’s a bonus in my books. I’ve been running the tankathon lottery and it keeps taking forever for Canucks to get 1OA, Florida keeps getting it?!?!

    A good thing of drafting 3rd is the Canucks are drafting a player in premium position of center or a right handed defenseman instead of wing. Reid, Malhotra and Verhoeff are in the same tier right now according to scouts. Not a reach anymore to select Maholtra at 3.

    I truly do not understand why people spend time on a draft simulator when the probabilities are already fixed.

    Nothing anyone does on that site provides any information about what will happen in May. We need to have a conversation about hockey fans and numeracy.

    Is Verhoeff still considered the consensus 3rd overall? 

    I donno if he’s necessarily a lock at 3, but more-so a top-5 guy.

    We all want the 1st or 2nd pick but probabilistically 3rd is the most likely outcome. Personally I’m trying to temper my expectations.

    Also not disparaging Mckenna, Stenberg, Verhoeff, or Reid, but I think the 2027 draft may have bigger implications for the rebuild with the chance to pick up either Dupont or a potential future 1C around the top of the draft.

    I know everyone wants the 1st (who doesn’t) but I rather not get my hopes up on things you can’t control. Whether it’s just unlucky, rigged or whatever, just remember that even Verhoeff will skyrocket to the top of our prospects list.

    Imagine for a second a potential #1 RHD who can log 25 minutes and play in all situations. And in his prime will likely be 6’5 220 lbs patrolling the blueline?

    Tank will roll on. Gives us even less ammo to win next year. Finishing last next year guarantees one of DuPont, Joseph or Privalov.

    4 out of 10 times I did it San Jose got #1, Celeberini/McKenna together wouldn’t be fair to the rest of the league

    I’ve just told myself that we will pick third because of Canucks luck. Anything better is a bonus. We are gonna draft a good player this year. If anything, NEXT year is the draft to win. Dupont.

    Loads of blind trust that after a wasted season they won’t fk up their pick. Regardless who they pick this management group can ruin any blue chip talent. But when they trade him away they will get a few pics

    They could easily make a big spectacle of the draw. Get a couple of those lottery ball machines. Put 200 in the first (one for every 0.5% chance) Put all but the first drawn team’s balls in the second. Voila! They couldn’t fill a half an hour show with this but I think it would be much more exciting. Not to mention the transparency of the event.

    You just know the Canucks are picking third and either the Flames, Leafs, Blackhawks, or Panthers are picking first. Actually dreading May 5th a bit. Gonna be annoying.
