I do agree, Buium should be extended for 8 years if we can. Get him locked up for a good price.

If im Zeevs manager im trying to get a 2-4 year bridge to potentially maximize earnings. Would love to get him at 7×7 or 8×8.

Lock up young talent for as long as you can

Canucks will do that and then Bettman will decide to give them a cap penalty for trying to avoid the coming changes. No other teams. Just Vancouver. Because eff us I suppose.

It is the last chance to do an 8 year contract. Surely someone will take the easy money if offered enough.

Drance’s point about trying to go term on Ohgren (he used the example of a 4Mx6) intrigues me.

It feels like he’s primed for a big breakout, especially if he’s still getting top six minutes next year. 4M is a lot for his current stats, but if he pops off to a 55-60 point power forward then it’s a steal. Those are the contracts that let you compete out of a rebuild

This kid’s walking around like he owns the place.
I couldn’t be happier! We need swagger soooo much on this team!

We have tonnes of cap space, and this guy will be a top pair dman for the duration of the next 8 years, so hook him up and lock him down now. With a rising cap, this will be a steal.

Benning would give Kane a 6×6

I’d look at trading him, at least kicking the tires.

He’s the only asset we have that’ll have a significant return like a 1st. As soon as he’s extended by these guys, his value will go down. Arguably each game he plays with this dumpster fire is reducing his value.

He’s no Quinn Hughes, and never will be – we will need to hopefully draft a player that great again. But if Buium wins you 5 more games a year for the next 3 or 4 years, and could bring back an extra 1st in that window, I think you got to seriously consider moving him.

The cap is exploding to $113.5M when year 1 of a hypothetical contract would start. If you use Jake Sanderson as a comparable cap%, that’s $10.4M a season for a very raw talent.

If he takes something around 7-8 in both dollars and term, go for it, but Zeev and his agent will probably want a modest bridge in hopes of a massive payday down the road with how the cap is going

Nice idea but why would Buium do this? I could see Ohgren doing it. But for someone with Buium’s pedigree will bet on himself.

Honestly, he seems like the kind of guy you can build a team around.

I’m not saying he has Quinn Hughes talent, of course not, but his energy is great great great. The primary objective is elite talent of course, but considering the past decade this guy does not look like a guy who will ever drag you down for whatever stupid reason. He’ll always add something good to whatever is going on.

Also, are idiot pundits still shoving a mic in his face and comparing him to Quinn Hughes? That has to stop. Quinn Hughes is a generational player and only an idiot would expect him to be Quinn Hughes. Man, some of our reporters are basic.

Of I was biuum I would get out of this Canucks organization lol 😆

The fact that Kevin Bieksa seems to be a bit of a mentor to this kid is a green flag.

I also think we need people who can handle the BS, because let’s be real, as long as the Aqua family is at the helm, it’s always going to be toxic at the top.

The only good thing I can say about them is that the org at least didn’t fuck Boeser over, and tried to treat him decently.

Other than that players in Van are gonna have to pull a Detroit and win in spite of coaching and management and ownership.

The Aqua family I have zero faith in ever changing. Not a quality kind of people when they screw over migrant workers, and underpay people when they’re billionaires.

Haven’t given the Canucks a cent of my money this season other than a charity game. Won’t do so until I see real change from the team.
