  1. When the heritage jerseys dropped I immediately got a custom one with #11 on it. Everyone talks Thornton and Marleau, but Nolan is THE OG Shark

  2. One of my favorite memories of Owen is when he took a run at Ed Belflour . This was in the playoffs the season after Belflour had been a trade deadline signing for us and didnt do anything. Belflour left a bad taste in most Sharks fan's mouths and in Game 2 of the playoffs that following season – Owen gave us a bit of catharsis. The puck gets dumped in, Nolan heavy on the forecheck, Belflour goes out to play it behind his net and Nolan lowers the boom. I really wish I could find high quality footage, the only one on Youtube seems to have been filmed with a potato. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TF3mROk7Zxc

  3. The greatest captain in Sharks history. He personified what it meant to lead by example and stand up for your teammates. Didn’t have the greatest stats in the world but he was the grit and blue collar mentality that represent the city of SJ + what it means to be a Shark. Those reasons alone justify retiring #11 in the rafters.

  4. My favorite shark. Watching him and Irbe with Jeff Friesen was just so exciting for me as a child. Those 2 goals are forever memorable!

  5. Owen Nolan is one of my 🔝 3️⃣ all-time favorite Sharks 🦈 along with Evgeni Nabokov 🥅 and Patrick Marleau 🏒. They're the three players who made me a hardcore fan of the team. I was such a huge fan of Owen Nolan that I made "Owen" my confirmation name 😂😂😂😂😂😂.

  6. He plays pickup hockey once in a while with me and my buddies. The guy is still full of skill! I swear he could go end to end just kicking the puck through everybody.

  7. To me as a Sharks fan since 1991 Owen Nolan is my favorite all time Shark. That 2000 series against St. Louis in my opinion is one of the greatest playoff series in Sharks history alongside the 1994 Detroit series and the 2019 series against Las Vegas. Keep up the awesome content Brodie!

  8. That center ice goal was the moment I think all Sharks fans were thinking “oh yeah, they are going to knock out the #1 seed”! Also, at that time Roman Turek was known for giving up soft goals in the playoffs. Nolan didn’t mention that out of respect I’m sure… but I bet you he was thinking of it!

  9. The greatest captain and leader of the sharks, he’s one of one we’ve lacked a player like him since he left.
