We had a great second period on a Tuesday night at the Bell Centre. I never thought I’d experience that.
takeaways in no particular order:
– enormous win in the playoff race and especially happy to see them fight through a brutal start to the game. some real playoff hockey against a great team!!
– Cole going for the Rocket. if he loses by one goal you know Slaf will feel horrible lol
– so happy for baby Demidov!!!! what a breakaway deke to tie Sennecke for the scoring lead. his production has slowed since losing Slaf, but wow he’s so talented, his puck skills are crazy. end-to-end near-goal was a thing of beauty. he’s going to explode next year when Hughes gets a trade redo and gives him some help.
– Guhle with another great game, he’s been on a tear recently. realizing that all he needs to do is be physical has done wonders – 8 hits tonight!!!
– Hutson has been good but not phenomenal these past few games playing with Struble. Hutson-Dobson looks amazing whenever they play together.
– Dobeš with an incredible game with 41 stops for a .953 sv% – he’s the only reason this game wasn’t a blowout for Carolina early on and made some HUGE saves down the stretch. no doubt he starts game 1 of the playoffs as of now.
– loved that we were able to close out the 4 minutes of 6-5 time. playoff hockey is here!!
What a game, brutal start, but they stayed in the game and battled back for the final 50
2nd line with some much-needed offensive production, but more importantly, Doby legacy game, the best start of his career without a doubt, he won us that game

Another solid game for Guhle. He was MEAN tonight, throwing huge hits on the boards. Crosschecking every Cane in front of the net to give Dobes clean looks. A physical force that gave the Canes a bunch of bruises that they will feel tomorrow morning. His skating is so much better, its letting him stay agressive while maintain good defensive positioning.
Imagine hating the Habs and we’re just over here with the loudest barn in the league and a young dynasty in the works.
i know we have Fowler , but Dobes is made for a city like Montreal

Huge win! After an abysmal first 10 min, shots don’t represent what the game was like, Habs actually had the upper hand for at least half the game, Carolina was just shooting from everywhere
