but but he only wins because the team scores alot.
Been great the last couple of games and has been pretty solid all year. As opposed to Monty, he may give up a goal or two early but he fights through it and comes up big when the game is on the line. Random floaters from the point don’t eat him up. We’re going to ride the rookies and see where the ship sails.

I can’t help but fear we’re going to have a Halak/Price problem 2.0 in the coming years with him and Fowler.
They’re both super promising and I don’t know how you keep them both.

New goaltending coach earning his keep.

feels great to feel confident in our goaltending after a pretty bumpy season. hoping this leads to having it figured out for the longer term.

He’s at like .912 save percentage since the goalie coach change.
He’s now sitting in 10th for goals saved above expected per 60 all year.

He’s beginning to find that consistency we need to go on a deep run!

He’s clearly the Habs best option in net right now and he’s looked amazing lately. I’m not trying to be negative, but we’ve seen Dobes get hot like this before, followed by an eventual cooldown in play:
Last year he debuted against the Panthers and recorded a shutout, followed by 4 more wins against some juggernauts (Avs, Caps, Stars and Rangers). I still firmly believe this little run he went on helped re-energize the team and pushed them to make the playoffs.
At the start of this year he won his first 6 games before the struggles hit.
That’s been my one uncertainty with Dobes so far, the inconsistency. I would say this run he’s been on since the start of 2026 has been his most consistent play so far which which is really promising! The tail end of this season will be a massive test to see if he can remain consistent while playing in high pressure games. Either way it’s a blessing to have a 24 year old rookie goaltender doing what he’s doing. Gotta love Doby man

It’s crazy that we should have two candidates for calder this year.
