Hope Sens find their game back soon, forechecking and stifling opponents' shots on goal.
Just got to say, didn't see Justin's comment but something to point out about goaltending early in the season… THIS is how the Sens played in the beginning of the season but they didn't have this goaltending. Bad penalties, emotional responses to ref jobs, off-nights from key players. Sens didn't play "their game" all night. What people were mad at was that Ully wasn't STEALING them whole games — we weren't winning the games weren't supposed to. Yeah there were bad games because of the PK (why were there so many offensive zone penalties — Perron, Greig before his injury, Poor Cousins — in the first period no less!) but also THIS is what the Sens looked like. Some offense was clicking, goals were going in for the first time in recent cheering history, but Shabs was injured and the blue line was in shambles. Jenny couldn't turn to the left.
Anyways the point is, for all the crying about all the Sens need was average goaltending and they would be dominanting everyone left right and center… they're getting average and above average and they still need tv timeouts to get their heads above water. The difference is you can't blame tonight's loss on goaltending. Brady had UNREAL passes all game long — stuff that would be in highlight packages all week and NO ONE was around to finish them. Brady used to be Bambi out there falling down every shift and the guy is a MOUNTAIN now. No one takes the puck from him. But he just had no finisher. Timmy was a super star and got no calls, less said about the refs the better, but there was cool stuff in this game but the missing defense was really felt tonight. And not just from the D corps. Pinto and Amadio had their first stinker game in what, weeks? Months? They got walked almost every shift and we NEVER see that.
So yeah, this is just my long rant about hanging up the ol' "It's all Ully's fault" that were not in the playoffs because he's the reason the team even got a point tonight. Boys will flush it, say sorry to their tendy, and head to Florida where hopefully they'll create a ruckus.
Wally just had to shoot his friggin mouth off.
