Say what you want about Torts as the hire, but the VGK are cut throat and are always trying to shake things up and make their team better.
Meanwhile, the Leafs wasted an entire season with Berube and now we’re stuck watching this “team” getting destroyed game after game.
Pretty crazy how many people want to sign on to that team when they will absolutely just eject you at any point.
I was made to believe that you can’t make coaching changes during the season.
This is really late in the season to be letting a coach go. Vegas are almost as bad as the Leafs are. There’s no turning that team around.

This is why Vegas has a cup this decade, and the Leafs do not.

Ok… I’m not a huge fan of the Vegas chaos model, but this is yet a other example of how ruthless they are in pursuit of winning. No chance after chance, just if you don’t win, we’re moving on. This goes for players and coaches. Again, every team has probably a four year window at best with a core group. If it doesn’t get done, you are better off blowing it all up and starting over. Vegas probably errs too much on the side of blowing things up too quickly, but you know where you stand with them.
The Leafs, from top down, are too soft in their expectations for each other.

Cassidy’s underlying stats are generally pretty good, terribly low shooting percentage and dead last GSAE(bad goaltending) the last couple months. I’d be interested in him, upgrade from Berube’s low possession system for sure
