3rd period still to come but man, the oilers have been so much better defensively these past 3 games and it looks like a consistent effort. They have been great on the pk and have blocked just about everything coming their goalies way. BUT for how long will it last?
As an Oilers fan, I agree. I don't care how they win, just win. I don't care if its reg, ot, or so. Win. I don't care if the score is 1-0 or 7-6. Win. JUST WIN!

Both Vegas and LA have easy schedules to end the year but LA is easier.
The pacific is going through that perfect switch where teams like LA, Vancouver, are being swapped out by the sharks and ducks
Utah is nothing, and will be bounced by anyone who faces them in the 1st round. They have zero playoff experience as a group, and will be swiftly dispatched.
Edmonton should pull for the division, just for the by they will get through Utah.

Won our 3rd in a row today. It definitely feels like things are tightening up and heating up in Edmonton.

Regulation season and play-offs are two different seasons I've always heard.
Oilers commentators acting like Bouch is gonna get 100 points is the worst thing I’m hearing lately.
I`m not sure if you want to play Utah.
But it`s not like they can choose, Oilers are in a battle to make it in and have home ice first.
The west is crazy, even STL is kinda back in the WC race, they are 4 behind with a game less.
Oilers travel more than any other NHL team in a season. Team Travel distance and younger core player average age during a compressed season distorted NHL standings this year.
Buffalo travels the least and has younger core.
Edmonton travels the most and has older core.
The Western Conference, specifically Pacific doesn’t suck. They has to travel much further distances in a season.

That’s 67% more travel a year.
All Western conference teams travel much further than Eastern conference teams. During a compressed schedule season, it distorts standings.
Goal differential per division: Atlantic: +88, Central: +31, Metro: +3, Pacific: -122…
What’s crazy is /37 wins 28 have been in Regulation for Edmonton; to say OT is Edmonton strongest is not possible of a tie breaker comes between Edmonton and Anaheim. Edmonton takes it completely cause they are 13th in the league in regulation wins

Also Anaheim is 8-0 in shootouts to Edmonton's 0-3
I don’t think the Oilers care about the regular season. They are now getting into playoff form.
The parity between teams in the cap era means there will be more OT and shoot-outs in general, and every game is a game that a bounce or two can change the result. No division is actually head above or below any other. Restart the season right now and the results will be very different.

In my opinion I think they'll be fine in the playoffs. Yes winning streaks haven't been our forte l, however we haven't had any massive losing streaks either. And if it goes to it goes to ot, how many made it to ot last year in the playoffs. Quite a few. LGO!
Oilers players don't care about regular season, they don't care about division or trophies or prizes or whatever. They make it to the playoffs by the skin of their teeths and then they just find a way in the playoffs. Real question is, can they make it through that game 6 and 7 in a cup finale.

imho the Oilers beat either Vegas or Utah in 5, or at most 6 games. They've consistently shown this year and in past years that when the games actually matter they can play team defense. They are getting Draisatl back to start the playoffs. Vegas' goaltending sucks and the Oilers beat them in 5 last year. Utah will be a deer in the headlights against the defending (2x) Western Conference champs.

These guys crap on the oilers yearly. No matter what the oilers do in the regular season, they go up a couple of gears in the playoffs when it matters most. The pacific is the worst division statistically but it’s not like the Florida panthers made a fool of the oilers and swept them in the playoffs last two years. U can never count out the oilers when they have McD, Drai and Bouch – they are clutch in the playoffs. If we didn’t have B string goalies like, Pickard, Ingram, Jarry the oilers would win the cup this year. A hungry and desperate lion who had been hurt then last two years is far more deadly.
These guys always look down on the Oilers. A whole lot of envy for a team that does the opposite of their beloved TO, Oiler have meh seasons, followed by SPECTACULAR playoff runs and their stars show up to the tune of top 4 in playoff history! Three guys green with envy here, they would all kill to have any of the top 4 Oil on their team McD, Drai, Bouch, & Hyms playoff performers!

They should change how team points are awarded. 2 points for regulation win, 1 for OT / shootout win, and 0 points for SO loss / regulation loss. OT wins, is not the same as regulation win. It’s a completely different game.
The Canucks will save the pacific division next year 💪🏼

As an Oilers fan I don't care which team we play, we beat both of them.

As an Oiler fan, the only teams that worry me in the Playoffs are Dallas and Colorado and that won't be a thing unless they make the WCF. Every other team they might face have little to no Playoff experience besides VGK who the Oilers OWN.
These guys here and the way they bash players is why Toronto has lost the players they have. Dangle is also the reason why Matthews will be leaving soon after he turned the whole city against him for visting the President of his own country. Lots of players have Toronto on their no trade list because of these 🤡
Western conference teams often suffer from travel fatigue, changing time zones over multiple consecutive games. And given the especially condensed schedules in this Olympic season, the West may appear weaker and is underrated. Once the playoffs begin, there will be surprises.
