I think this is a very bad idea, in the long term. Cassidy is one of the best coaches in the NHL. If they don’t make the playoffs it’s buh bye for McCrimmon.

A huge issue is 1 or 2 goals on the first few shots on goal. Vegas is notorious for this and Cassidy would not change goalies until at least 4 bad ones go in. VGK needs every point right now and Tortorella will not leave a goalie in net that is starting out bad. 2 bad goals pull them out.
This franchise is in my opinion the most cut throat front office in the league. Their demand is to be first place or you're out. I don't think taking the head coaching job is worth it in Vegas. I still can't get over how they did Gallant or even how they did Fluery.

Carter Hart played well under Tortorella during his tenure in PHI. I saw this move happening from a mile away. K.McCrimmon is in damage control mode due to how badly Adin Hill is sinking that team.

Torts has a bad reputation with players- there might be mutiny . Eichel will likely leave immediately as will Mark Stone. Hill might exist. Ouch! Marner Mr. Matthew’s fashion pal , He might go back to Toronto and apologize to the maple leafs fans. A move like this should be done after the season not so late in the season. Bad move by Vegas. I wonder if Gary Buttman had something to do with this. He loves Vegas. It’s his other home.

Torts wont change much but deployment….what they are bringing torts in for is to maximize competitive attitude, and to maximize potential for short term gain
