Wild. Head coaches have short life span it seems if their message isnt being received well by their team.

Tourigny still coaches the same team, bot

Is it ok to compare Coop to Tomlin at this point? I know Tomlin recently got fired from the Steelers, but he was there a damn long time!

And the safest on this list is Martin St Louis… He is an awesome coach

Random season to pick from but okay

Hockey is my favorite pro sport to play. But it does have other worldly levels of diva. Hockey players and basketball players might be cut from a different thread toughness wise. But I never seen such a bad coaching carousel

It feels like just yesterday the Panthers kicked Gallant out without cab fare, brought on Quenneville who promptly had to exit the league for Burnett to take over and bring them to the Presidents trophy, first round exit, and another sacking.

The more interesting thing is 12 of these coaches are still head coaches in the league for other teams (Tourigny, Montgomery, Mclellan, Ruff, Lambert, Smith, Tortorella, Sullivan, Berube, Keefe, Tocchet, Bowness)
Another 5 are current assistant coaches (Lalonde, Richardson, Woodcroft, Quinn, Hakstol)
So that leaves only 7 guys on this list who are not actually coaching in the NHL.
DeBoer is widely rumored as a head coach in waiting
Cassidy was just fired
Cronin and Vincent are head coaches in the AHL
Congrats to Granato, Evason, and Laviolette as being the only 3 guys on this list not currently coaching in the NHL, or it’s primary development league.

Brunette being one of them is insane to me.
Not saying he deserves to be fired or anything, just crazy to me with everything Nashville has gone through since then, that they didn’t change coaches. Basically any other team for SURE would have, no?

Patience isn’t a virtue when it comes to NHL owners & general managers.
For example, the NY Rangers since 2009: Tortorella, Vigneault, Quinn, Gallant, Laviolette, Sullivan. Six coaches in 17 seasons, ridiculous.
Drury needs to go and bring in Messier to coach.
Jipeders
Tourney still coaches for the mammoth(totes) so this is wrong

Most of the biggest glow ups / long term success stories and the biggest long-term rebuilds (Calgary / Nashville) represented

I’d be surprised if Brunette has much more time left with the Preds.
