  1. Bring on Tampa bay! They’re old, their time is over and we owe them a severe beatdown for the heartbreak they gave us in 2021. Go habs go

  2. I get what you guys are saying about arbar , but he didn’t really have time to practice for it either. It was like last-minute decision against one of the best teams in the NHL so I don’t know I give him bit of slack 😂

  3. Shaun/Marco SERIOUS question, what's your thoughts of trying Anderson on the 2nd line for a couple of games? I know what you already think of him, heck Habs fans generally view Anderson as a '3rd/4th line" guy. BUT MSL has shown he's willing to play a bit of 'mad scientist' lately, and this is no slight on Newhook or the 2nd line in general. But I'd like to see Anderson get a serious shot on the 2nd line for a few games. Maybe not against TBL but we have the Rangers & back-to-back against NJD coming up, we shouldn't treat them as 'gimmes' but with Anderson's size, speed and nastiness he could bring a whole different dimension to that line. He doesn't have to play there long term but against bigger teams like Carolina, Columbus and similar. He has a 16.2 S% but only 80 shots. I know people think he's been given his opportunity on the top lines in the past but I'm not one to pigeon hole a guy when things change around him. Maybe it doesn't work but I just can't get the thought of wanting to see this combination out of my head. Clearly not a long term solution, but we're going in to the playoffs and open ice will be tough to find, Anderson can provide that for Demigod to dance.

  4. Random but serious question. Y’all think Utah would trade us John Marino for a bag of pucks if he doesn’t extend? That’ll be nice.

  5. Short term memory. Xhekaj was stringing along solid games this year and Struble was the unplayable one. Now it's the opposite. Another team'll play him and live with his mistakes. Perhaps a rebuilding one. An environment he can play in without fearing to be in the press box after one mistake in ironically a game of mistakes.

  6. The games I saw, I thought WiFi actually played better than Struble. It just seemed like all of a sudden, WiFi was out and Struble was in. I think WiFi brings a tangible that we need. If we lose him, we're going to regret it

  7. Shaun's an all-starr broadcasting lifer pro and Marco's quickly becoming one of the most reliable, personable and whip smart hockey hawk eyed commentator out there.

  8. Both Xhekaj and the team/management should do whatever it takes to keep him with the team. This guy’s blood and sweat has been molded into the rebuild, what he means to his teammates is evident. The stronger your family, the harder you’re going to go to war for them.

  9. Love the Hank appearance!….Marco: fair enough on Arber. It was definitely fun. (I have seen Plekanec play D in those situations too.) From another channel I trust (but I forget the source) I heard that apparently Marty and Arber had talked about it at some point earlier, but I don't know. I brought it up last summer as a possibility in the Habs-Tube-o-Sphere as a possible change, and was ridiculed. it is not like players have not made the shift before. The guy has the "grit" we whine about lacking (hits, crease clearing, wear them down, and protection), a107 MPH shot, and his teammates love him. Some smart people are criticizing Robidas more than Xhekaj, (Demidov, Hutson & Slaf are my fav players.)

I think it is more than "starting out slow"… Regardless of period, the Habs cannot seem to consistently move the puck out of the D-zone and transition cleanly to the O-zone, and so they are getting ridiculous outshot. The reason we are winning seems to be unsustainable save percentage & short percentage, combined with lats of blocked shots (which can cause injury). Thank goodness for Doby & Fowler who are doing amazing. They are taking care of their own zone better, but at the cost of transition. That is the new problem; I am just glad we are winning with the problem.

Agree about Veleno & Gallagher. The stats monitoring/highlight reel fans don't see that Veleno has been a good checking-line forward (at W or C), and in Gallagher's case there is more to a sport than G-A-Pts; a team is a social situation and so there are some social factors needed, such as leadership. I hate to say it in this environment (because I will; be called a "troll" or "a fan of the player not the team" or someone whose "opinion is not worth as much as yours" or other dismissal via ad hominem/appeals to authority because it seems to work in the Trump era), but I think Arber can bring his own spacial social contribution with the badguy intimidation that increase the "ball size" of the rest of them. If Xhekaj is there, Evangelista does not run into Dob, Woods doesn't f$% with Hutson….There is a respectful way to disagree, and there is a disrespectful way to disagree. There is a logical way to disagree, and an illogical way to disagree.

PS…I heard Ole Ole at Laval vs. Utica!

  10. isnt it better for hage to play the playoffs in laval instead of sit in the stand during the playoffs in mtl?

  11. You are so negative about Xhekaj guys to the point that you are sounding like MSL. For a guy who never had a practice and was thrown into that situation he did well. Out side of Suzuki, Caufield, Slafkovsky, Demidov, Kapanen, Dobes being Patrick Roy like, nobody was outstanding. So give up your BS amateurish bias.
