Now at least we don’t have to worry about the « Gauthier – I don’t want to be in college anymore » or « Shultz – I’m going to finish college and sign with whomever I want ».

I think this is perfect, he will get some pro experience, but we’ve already got Sennecke making rookie mistakes costing us games we don’t need anymore rookie mistakes

Still think he could’ve used another year in college. None of our top 9 guys (besides RFAs Carlsson and Gauthier) have expiring contracts next year. He’s not gonna wanna play on the bottom line or do we put him in San Diego?

  4. This is vague, possibly intentionally. Is he going to be on an ELC to start the season, or after his next college season? Signing an ATO maintains his college eligibility. Perhaps this is going to be seen as a bit of a tryout to see if he can hold his own at the pro level. I’m excited for it.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong:

If he signs an AHL ATO, that will be so he can play the last few games in the AHL this season. If he doesn’t sign his ELC for next season, he can go back to college next year.

If he signs his ELC starting next season, he won’t be able to go back to college, and would be AHL/NHL next season, yes?

u/mylefthandkilledme , this better not be an April fool’s joke.

Wait but if he is signing an ATO and an ELC that kicks in next season at the same time wouldn’t that make him ineligible to return to college next season?

This team is getting so good imagining what can happen once he joins the line up is so exciting.
