A lot of that is thanks to him. I wouldn’t be surprised if his jersey is in the rafters by the end of his career

Love this year’s team! What a scrappy bunch of youngsters.

Think about how rare it is for a team to make a Cup Final and then decide soon after to fully rebuild.

The Habs did a proper rebuild and the fans were okay with it riding the high of 2021.

How fortunate are we that Suzuki and Caufield got to watch how fast a career can end cup-less for legends like Price and Weber. Probably why they took team friendly deals. And probably who they learned their clutch from.

It feels like ages ago. And they are so much better now. He and Caufield blossomed big time. Most other players are gone. Elite youngsters joined the team. Danault had the time to go play in LA and come back. Really another era!

Even when the Habs were bad, those games were competitive for portions of those games, the player development improvements we’ve made with this front office have been extremely impacful

I’d argue you could see where it was heading when 2 years ago with Monohan we were almost clinging to a playoff spot at mid season.

Team that should have taken a hint from 2021 was the Leafs who should have made a major shakeup after that season.

  8. Players around from that 2021 Run;

    – Nick Suzuki

    – Cole Caufield

    – Phil Danault

    – Josh Anderson (game winning goal in the final!)

    – Brendan Gallagher

    – Jake Evans

Those guys know what it takes to get there and how rare of a chance it is!

They got the taste of what was possible early, some veteran’s never get that. Our core knows what it means to reach a final and be so close to the ultimate goal and they seem hell bent on improving as an individual and as a team to win.

We’re truly blessed with what this team has become the last few years

There aren’t enough flowers to give Suzuki for his role in this rebuild. He is the only guy of the remaining guys from the 21 team to not only play every game since, but to do it at an elite level, even if the rest of the league discounted him. I feel like there should be some kind of award, and named after him, for that leader who leads there team through challenging times.
